Well' date=' originally going for a REBD deck, but this actually IS my first attempt at making a legit Dragon deck. The first one was just over 70 cards and about half of it was illegal.

A deck list would be nice. Right now, the Dragon I fancy the most is Montage Dragon.

[/quote']

Well, Montage Dragon might be able to be teched into a Hopeless build.

Montage is very risky. It can have a huge ATK, but you lose so much hand advantage, and if it gets Bottomlessed or something you're screwed.

I'll say the normal Hopeless build is better. You can make it more towards the original Red-Eyes too.

You can toss Wyvern and REDRUM along with Dark Horus or something so you can recover even if it is Bottomlessed.

You just kinda threw together two struc

Since you are running a dedicated dragon deck, Five-Headed Dragon (or as it should be called F.G.D.) is almost staple support. You use Future Fusion to dump dragons in your graveyard, thins the deck, sends cards you want into the graveyard (Wyvern+Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon) and gives you a slim chance for a 5k behemoth. F.G.D. and future fusion speed up the deck dramatically. Dragon's mirror should also be run if you do go F.G.D.. Half the time, F.G.D. doesn't even get to the field, it's just for dumping.

There are quite a few good dragon decks. Red Eyes Darkness Metal like jabber suggested (this is very flexible) and Horus are the best. You don't really have to run synchros like jabber suggested but F.G.D. is strongly recommended. I'll just post a few staples for the decks.

For any dragon builds

Future Fusion, F.G.D., Dragon's Mirror

Stamping destruction (their very own normal spell MST with the bonus 500)

Trade-In (for any deck focusing on high level dragons e.g. Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon)

For Red Eyes Darkness

Red Eyes Darkness (obviously) x3

Wyvern (possibly working with Red Eyes)

Prime Material Dragon (so good with red eyes)

Any good dragon cards (a 1900 vanilla is not good nowadays):

Totem Dragon

Blizzard Dragon

Debris Dragon (even without synchro's, its a free summon for a 500 below monster)

Masked Dragon for REDMD fodder (and works with armed dragons lv 3 and 5)

For Horus

Horus

Masked Dragon

Armed Dragon 3 and 5

Jinzo

Level Modulation

Level Up

Royal Decree

I think that Allure could help in a Red Eyes Darkness build, as it can help for a draw of other assistive cards, but i'm not all that good at Red Eyes builds, but it's just a thought. P.S. I also think that Tiger Dragon could be slightly useful but it could help.
