[Jayjack] The Brave Ones <--- That is the wickedness of Icy

From now on, any thread whose title does not directly relate to the topic of the thread will be immediately locked, and the poster shall receive a 10% warning.

The new Title Rule is stupid. Titles are ADVERTISEMENTS! They can be about anything. They don't have to relate to the card, or else that's boring. Creativity in a title makes people want to see what the thread is about.

For example: Someone's title is "The most extravagant card ever made by man". People will say "ooh the most extravagant card ever, that sounds interesting" and click to see the thread. Limiting the title to "Elemental Hero Yankee" people will go "That sounds boring. I'ma find another card"

Titles are part of creativity and life of the thread. Limiting it would be wrong and make everything too boring. Do we really want this forum to be less creative? Noobs these days are already infesting the forum with sh*t like "Super Dragon Man".

(Btw, I haven't broken the rule, since the title is part of the thread. So gtfo Yankee. Icy, you can stay. At least he gives a good and valid reason before he locks this thread.)

The card I made represents monsters with unique 1 word names. Monsters like Athena, Granadora, Frostosaurus, Inferno, Fenrir, Drillago, etc. Very unique names. It shows the beauty and creativity of titles. Archetype names are boring and ugly. Just like the new rule. THAT'S RIGHT YANKEE, IT'S UGLY AND BORING!

LORE

You can Special Summon this card from your hand when you control exactly 3 monsters. The ATK and DEF of this card is equal to the number of monsters on the field with 1 word in their card name x 2500. During your End Phase, you can Tribute 1 monster you control to destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls with 2 or more words in their card name.

Wrong.

Misleading titles does not show creativity.

Creativity should be the core of what your thread is about, and what it shows.

The title should only be a quick summation, or a lean-in to the subject.

Thank you.

Also,

Flaming is fun as well. You do realize you where doing that, correct?

Note:Flaming is when you argue with another user. I am stating opinion, like other human beings.

I disagree with that. Misleading titles usually do show creativity in a sense. It's just advertisement. It's purely to gain the attention of users. If you limit that, the forum will grow boring.

No.

Your logic is flawed.

The name is a quick summation, or lean-in to the subject.

Naming a thread "YCMaker's Password Revealed!", and having it be about Tacos...

Yea, thats basically enough there.

A person should read a title, knowing what they are going to see.

If they don't want to waste their time by clicking a thread with a false title, they should not have too.

It is better to know what the thread is about before you click it, in order to not waist their time, such as myself with this thread.

The forum won't "grow boring". The forum would only "grow boring" if people would stop posting on this site.

Your whole argument against the new rule is horrible. So what if your thread title can't be any random bullocks that you come up with? That doesn't mean that the so called "creativity" you're preaching on about will fade away. It only means that you can't use random bullocks titles.

Also, this rule was pretty much designed so all threads could get views. If you haven't noticed, most threads that use the titles with random titles usually get more views than the threads that use titles with genuine titles what have actually something to do with the content of the thread itself. I know that it's advertisment, but come on. There has to be a line somewhere.

Also, threads with random "creative" titles, bring more spam posts ^_\\\

Misleading titles lead to problems. Huge misconceptions. And probable concern.

You will not protest, you will not do otherwise. You will obey it, as you lose nothing from it; hell you're even allowed to be sarcastic (though in TCG this is limited due to rules already on this). It says "directly state the thread content", get creative with THAT! If you can't, you're misleading everyone on more than one level. You would disrespect someone for an egotrip?

And honestly, I love this card xD. Borderline AoC, but I like the idea.

Listen, you have your opinion, but I have mine. I'm sure people would love to know what the next 2 seconds of their life is, but it's the author's choice if they want to lead them that way. If not, the author can choose something that they think will attract users more. Like bait to a fish, you can put in the classic worm, or try Cheetos chips and see if the fish like those instead. The end result will always be a mystery, which is usually the excitement of life. Either way, they both attract users.

A book for example; It's title is sometimes so different from the book that it's ridiculous, but it's also best seller. The book title makes people curious, and open up the book and start reading to learn what it's about. Whereas some picky people won't choose the books with crappy names. Like the old saying, "don't judge a book by it's cover"

Also, dun argue with me. It's flaming. Or is that something you can ignore as a mod?

So you're blaming people for their own stupidity and choice, when you're the very one influencing said actions? Haha wow! +1 for hypocrisy.

Also, argue? You're the one who put us all on the Chopping Block.

No shit Sherlock.

The Mods have ignored the rules for ages, who's gonna punish them, Junk Raver? Unlikely.

The title rule is irritating but we have to get by because they control us. Forums aren't democracys.

His not flaming you. He just destroyed your logic there. Deal with it.

And will you just give it up, you're already breaking at least 2 or more rules here with arguing. One of them being that "Moderators have the final say in everything". Sad as it is, but it's true, and you arguing with them ain't going to change the fact that the rule is in place and you can't do anything about it.

Correct.

This is not a democracy. Enjoy your time.

The author that uses misleading titles are the ones that people tend to stay away from later.

Again, it is not creativity in the title. The creativity should be in the subject of the thread. Thus, what you see after you click the link. You should know what you are clicking before you see it.

Such as,

I can send you a link, and say it's to a funny picture.

Guess what?
