Guest NeoBlueDragon
Chessmen monsters are a chess-themed archetype of my own creation, not unlike the Chess Archfiends. However, most of the Chessmen monsters are Warrior-type. They are used in my fanfiction, Queen of Hearts, Queen of Games, by the main protagonist Alice Yuudai and secondary character Akira Rose. Members:
Light/Warrior/3/1300/1200A warrior clad in white armor. They serve as the bulk of the White Chessboard Nation. Light/Warrior/4/1600/1400Once per turn, if this card destroyed your opponent's monster as a result of battle, it can attack again once in a row. White Rook GeneralLight/Warrior/6/2000/1500If this monster is summoned by Tributing a "White" monster, destroy one monster your opponent controls. White Bishop MagicianLight/Spellcaster/7/2500/2100Once per turn, if you discard 1 card, this monster can attack your opponent directly. During the end phase, Inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent for every "White" monster in your graveyard with a different name. White Queen MarinaLight/Warrior/8/2700/2300"White Princess Alyss" + 1 or more non-Tuner monster(s)If this monster destroyed a monster by battle, you can add 1 card from your Graveyard to your hand. If you Activate that card, remove it from play. White Princess AlyssLight/Warrior/2/600/400Once per turn, you can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. It cannot attack this turn. White Greatking NormaronLight/Warrior/Synchro/10/3300/32001 Tuner + 3 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monstersThere can only be 1 face-up "Greatking" monster on the field. If there is no face-up Field Spell Card on the field, destroy this card. Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 monster, except this card, to select and take control of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, until the End Phase.
Red Pawn MarauderDark/Warrior/3/1400/1300The Red Chessboard Nation uses these monsters to strike fear into their enemy's hearts. The many blades on their armor help to serve them. Red Knight DestructorDark/Warrior/4/1700/1500Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed by battle, it is not destroyed. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) If this card was destroyed by battle after this effect is applied, you can Special Summon this card from the graveyard, and decrease this card's ATK by 200. Red Bishop SorcererDark/Spellcaster/7/2500/2100On your turn, if you have one or more "Red" monsters with different names, you can Special Summon one or more "Red" monsters up to that total. Until the end of the turn, all monsters Summoned with this effect are treated as Normal Monsters. Red Rook BerserkerDark/Warrior/6/2400/0If this card is in Attack Position at the beginning of your Battle Phase, first, you can and must attack all monsters on your opponent's side of the field once each with this card. During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. Red Queen IrascibethDark/Warrior/8/2700/2300"Red Princess Roza" + 1 or more non-Tuner monster(s)Once per turn, you can Discard all the cards in your Hand, and destroy one Monster on your opponent's side of the field. If you use this effect, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase. Red Princess RozaDark/Warrior/Tuner/2/900/300Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your Hand, and add 1 Monster Card from your Graveyard to your hand. If you use this effect, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase. Red Greatking RagnaronDark/Warrior/Synchro/10/4000/39001 Tuner + 3 or more non-Tuner DARK monstersThere can only be 1 face-up "Greatking" monster on the field. If there is no face-up Field Spell Card on the field, destroy this card. Once per turn, you can discard all the cards in your hand to destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls. If you do, destroy this card at the End Phase. I'll be posting the support cards soon. But for now, check out the fanfiction (Link provided in signature.) Considering that these cards were created for a fanfiction, it becomes somewhat questionable to put them here. ... oh, what the heck. EDIT: Queens up! Oh, and I know that Princess don't exist in Chess, but I didn't want to make a tuner version of the pawns.
silentsolo06
The concept for the cards is decent. I like that both pawns are vanillas, I think that was a wise move. However, the cards that have effects need work. "Striker" and "General" have bland effects; I would either add effects, or make the ones they have more unique. "Magician" is way too OP'd - assuming you Tribute 2 different "White" cards to summon it, if you activate both effects in one turn, you could cut your opponent's Life Points almost in half in one turn. "Destructor" is pretty good; I don't think you need the "after this effect is applied" clause. "Sorcerer", if I'm understanding the effect correctly, seems like it would let you swarm the field very quickly, and with powerful monsters. I would add a Level qualifier to that effect. "Berserker" is basically a weaker "Diffusion Wave Motion", although it could become a stronger version if given a basic equip card. The artwork is very well matched, but isn't quite polished enough. Also, check the OCG guide for capitalization and such. One thing I don't quite understand (this is more a general question than a critique): why do the corresponding Red and White pieces have different stats? It seems like since, being equally matched on a chessboard, they would be equally matched on the field. Maybe not, I don't know.

Maybe not, I don't know.[/quote'] True, many of the monsters have bland effects or overpowered ones. "Magician" would probably be limited to one per deck. As for why the cards have different stats, I figure that outside the game, White pieces are more pacifistic while Red or Black pieces are much more violent. Oh, and Sometimes OCG can be a big limiter of imagination. Oh, and I'll be posting the king and queen of both sides soon. In the meantime, check out the fanfiction that these cards were created for. Godot
Is this self drawn? Yep. Noooo....... 5/10 What's so bad about these cards? The pictures are crappy.. Better then what you can do. Anyways, the OCG is decent, and the art is pretty good for self drawn. Where are the Kings, though? Anyways, 7.9/10, in my honest opinion.
TrickyPooBoy
The OCG needs some work. However, the pictures are great for self drawn and I must give you a 9/10.

Guest NeoBlueDragon
No King? Where are the Kings? The reason I haven't made the kings yet is because I can't decide between Ritual Monsters or Synchro Monsters. Call it debate, if you will. TrickyPooBoy
Make the kings Synchro monsters. It will add a "hip" and "fresh" taste to your deck ;)
Brendano Harns
You did not just say those ancient words. 0_O What he means to say, is that it will be using all stratagies available if you use Synchros. The newest cards have been made to make the game more interesting, such as the Synchros.
