No Signatures? Lame!!!

So I registered in a site called 'Kaskus' (for those who live in Indonesia should know this). When I got there, it has a forum, an auction site, and some place for shopping. But the bad news about the forum is, that you can't use signatures there. There are no options to edit or change your signature. Some of the members said that these things called 'signatures' are actually messing up the forum, so they deleted it. What a sad, sad forum. :(

Know of the site you're talking about, through my Indonesian experiences. But never registered. I wonder what they're reasoning is to not allow sigs, but if it's a shopping website, what's the need?

 

Anyways, never registered to a site that doesn't allow sigs. The closest would be deviantART which only allows text.

Signatures are more of personalizing your account.

 

Seeing as you said it was a site of forums, auctions and shopping, it probably wasn't necessary.

Either way tho, just say it as I'm a newbie to forums. This is the first forum I ever registered, and this is where the journey of forums started. Along with few forums I registered, Kaskus is the only one which don't allow sigs.

Also, I have thought about it this way: This forum (YCM) is a fun forum. People have fun here, amirite? That forum, however (Kaskus) is more for business and stuff, and I saw a lot of activities on auction and other shopping things. It's just not forums. I thought people who thinks sigs are messing up are business peoples. =\

Signatures don't matter too much, it's only that people are so used to having them that not having them suddenly becomes a bad thing.
