[spoiler=Season 1: Chapter 5: The Fiery Song of Death! Blake vs Dimitri (Part 1)]

"Shut up and let's duel!"

With those words, the game began.

"I start!" Blake drew his card and took a glance at his adversary's face. There wasn't much to see, really, as his face was hidden behind the cowl of his cloak.

"I open with Interdimensional Swordweilder and a single facedown. That's it for me." And hopefully, that was enough.

"My turn! I summon Wise the Owl, who allows me to add a Ritual Spell Card to my hand! I choose Ritual of Dying Embers!"

The man's Duel Disk ejected a card from the deck, which he took and added to his hand.

"I then set two cards face-down and end my turn."

"Back to me!" Blake drew another card and checked it. Those two face-downs are trouble. I need to get rid of them quickly. "I'll activate Interdimensional Transience! By removing from play an Interdimensional monster, I can add another one to my hand. Now I summon it, Interdimensional Archaicmaker!"

An old man with an ancient-looking machine in his back appeared, looking sternly at the opponent. (ATK: 1400)

"Now, I send 4 cards from my deck to my Grave, and destroy half as many Spell or Trap Cards! Say farewell to your facedowns!"

"I think not. Activate Altar Guard! Now, I discard a Ritual monster, negate your card's effect, and add a Ritual Spell card to my hand. I discard Sword Demon."

An enormous black figure wielding a magic sword swung its blade in front of the old man. The machine on the old man's back fired a beam, which was blocked.

"I set a second card...and end." Blake really had no good options at the moment. His only hope was to see what Ritual Spell Card the cloaked figure had in store.

"It's my turn again! Now, I activate Contractual Negotiations, putting Sword Demon back in my hand. But, I activate Ritual of Dying Embers! By once again discarding Sword Demon as a Tribute, I summon Dark-Eyes Crimson Phoenix!"

Out of Dimitri's Duel Disk shot a flaming shadow. The Duel Disk followed it with more fire, until the shadow emerged from the flames fully realized, dark, deep red, and enraged. (ATK: 2500).

"Now, for its effect! I deal damage to both of us equal to the number of cards total times 200!"

"That's...2600 damage?!"

"I see you're better at math than manners!"

The phoenix let out a piercing cry, and dark red flames erupted around both players.

Blake LP: 1400

Dimitri LP: 1400

"Now I activate Ritual Scream! With a Ritual monster on my side of the field, I can reduce your monsters' ATK by half! (ATK: 850/700)Now, attack that stupid old man! Phoenixian Embers!"

The bird flapped its wings once, and a scattered cloud of feathers erupted from its wings. The feathers shot toward Archaicmaker, gaining speed as they did. Just before they reached him, they burst into flame, but continued forward.

Dammit. Why does this happen so early?!

[spoiler=Part 1: Chapter 6: Fly High' date= Interdimensional Soaringsword! Dimitri vs Blake (Part 2)]

 

"Dark-Eyes Crimson Phoenix! Attack!"

The phoenix let out a horrific cry, and flapped its wings, releasing a barrage of flaming feathers at the aged monster on Blake's field.

"Activate Trap! Interdimensional Cross! By removing the top card of my deck from play, I can negate your attack and change both our monsters to Defense Mode!"

The old man's machine lit up and fired a pulse of energy that looked similar to a wormhole. It caught the flying embers and disappeared.

"Hmph. Very well. I end my turn at that."

"As well you should!"

"It looks like Dimitri has got this one wrapped up."

"Excellent. That boy doesn't deserve to continue, anyway."

The two cloaked figures were watching their partner duel from a small, dark room high up in the stands. Both were watching the duel with an almost unhealthy devotion.

"Blake's in a pretty bad spot right now, eh?" Tom asked from the sidelines.

"That's fairly obvious," Nikia replied curtly, "and knowing him, there's probably no way he's getting out of it."

"Yeah, but we might as well watch."

"Mhm."

"Back to me. I..."

Everything I have...I've gotta do this....It's all riding on this one...

"DRAW!"YES! "I summon Interdimensional Tinker!" (ATK: 0) Now, with his effect, I send the top 3 cards of my deck to the Graveyard, and Special Summon the Interdimensional Identifier I removed from play! Now, I tune Identifier to my Tinker and Archaicmaker!"

Tinker, Identifer, and Archaicmaker leapt into the air, Identifier turning into 3 rings and encircling the other two monsters, who transformed into 4 stars.

"In whatever dimension exists, there is always the lust for power! Become the end and seek enlightenment! Synchro Summon! Fly high, Interdimensional Soaringsword!"

Out of the powerful light of the Summon, a winged knight flew. His wings and armor detail were green, while the rest of his armor was white. A helmet covered his face from view.

"Now, for his effect. I can return all the monsters I have out of play to my deck. For each one removed, my monster gains 200 ATK!" (ATK: 2500-->3300)

"3300?!" Dimitri gasped.

"But, that's not all. I activate its second effect. By removing from play a card in my hand, I shall remove your facedown from play!"

"Urgh...no..." Dimitri croakes as his facedown card disappeared.

"Now, attack! Flight And Stab!"

The knight took off, headed straight toward the Phoenix. When he was almost near it, he drew his sword and flew faster, plunging the blade straight into the bird, who let out another horrific yell and burst into flames. (LP: 800)

"This...can't..." Dimitri muttered, shaken to the core.

"Finish this, Plasma Captain. And remember, Dimitri..."

The Capain's sword shot forward, sinewy and flexible.

"...never underestimate anyone."

The sword pierced right through Dimitri, who by then had all but lost consciousness. (LP:0)

"THE WINNER," the PA system boomed, "IN A STUNNING UPSET, IS BLAKE ROSCO!"

Blake turned and left as the crowd let out a deafening cheer.

End of Chapter 6.
