I have actually used duct tape on a kid to keep him in time out. (Bound his hands and feet' date=' then put it over his mouth. That lasted for about 5 minutes). The kid never mouthed off to me or wanted to get put in time out EVER again.

O_O I never thought you would be like that Saturn lol.

I tried to be civil, but he was acting UNRULY - like throwing things and hitting the other kids. Extreme problems call for extreme measures. He had it coming, to be honest.

He had it coming? Despite the fact that you could have been arrested for Cruel and Unusual Punishment, as well as Abusing a Child, and Harming another Child that is not your own? (not sure on the name on the last one).

It would have been more civil to call his parents or an authority figure where such laws are not bound to them, unlike yourself. Way to risk a year in Prison, pal. Hardly had it coming to him.

1) The parents were friends of mine - and actually found it somewhat amusing. They knew the kid misbehaved often - and I was allowed to discipline him as I saw fit as long as he didn't hurt...

2) The kid didn't hurt himself during the process, so Number 1 worked.

3) The kid never misbehaved around me again - and all the parents have to say to the kid is something involving duct tape to get him to stop doing whatever he's doing.

Down here, the kids learn to behave and respect the elders - one way or another. ;)

[spoiler=Sad but true story]For a whole weekend' date=' we visited a friend's house full of relatives who had lots of babies. They all cried like mad. It was so loud, I had to spend time upstairs for the past hours doing nothing. it was hell:(. Later, another family came, with more children. One kid whom I knew, its Nuts x10000. He tried to beat me up, but I slapped him and pushed him away and gave him a warning. then my mom came in and saw me beating him up, and they didn't do anything about it! He tried to kick me in the area!(I got pwned) He then kept destroying my games and other stuff, screwing it all up! He even nows about porno and he's 6!?!?! WTF!!Worst f**king weekend ever.

Discuss babies and toddlers. Cuddly and Addorable? Or Annoying and Bothersome?

Yea, that must've sucked. I've got a younger brother determined to beat the crap out of me.

I am fine with any kid over the age of four who likes music and/or video games.

Oh god' date=' my wife will kill me when I get older. D:

[/quote']

If you get one, oops, did I say that out loud?

... I dun get it.

I don't see why that was a taboo statement? It holds true, doesn't it? Because I obviously don't currently have a wife, and the basis of my post was assuming that I did get a wife.

So while "if you get one" may seem like a derogative term, it holds true in this scenario in its literal meaning.

Oh you poor soul but that's one weekend. Tips to dealing with children since I've babysat a lot

For babies:

1 wear earplugs

2. give them the bottle, depends on what they want

3. sing to them or just talk

4. put on soothing music like symphony

For toddlers:

1. put cartoons on

2. find a really good toy

3. give em candy

For smaller children 5-8

1. put on a damn anime

2. play video games with them

3. play the card games

4. when they talk too much, talk about your life

For pre-teens 9-12

1. try to have a intellectual talk

2. help them with homework

3. watch tv

4. play video games

5. play cards

6. prank call people

7. find something they like to do that you don't mind doing.

Hmp, i have a young brother who is still a baby... For that i now own this topic.
