QuillDraw Eating Monarchs. [Thread still lacking Kiryuness.]

Recommended Posts

Basically spamming Monarchs, returning and backrow destruction, and smacking hard, with Plasma Techs for this combo:

I also want to shut down the opponent really quickly.

Imperial Iron Wall (Maybe) + FuFu with CyDra + Random Tuner = Quillbolt Spam for Plasma negating?

|Monsters|24|

1 Plaguespreader Zombie

3 Caius the Shadow Monarch

2 Dandylion

2 Quickdraw Synchron

2 Cyber Dragon

3 Quillbolt Hedgehog

1 Krebons

2 Mobius

2 Destiny Hero - Plasma

1 A Cat of Ill Omen

1 Tragoedia

1 Debris

1 Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind

2 Level Eater

|Spells|10|

1 Foolish Burial

1 Brain Control

1 Mind Control

3 Mass Driver

1 Enemy Controller

2 Gold Sarcophagus

1 Future Fusion

|Traps|6|

3x Imperial Iron Wall

1x Reckless Greed

1x Ultimate Offering

1x Mirror Force

I like the way this has tested.

First time I dueled with this I did it on WC10 against Judgement Dragon, (suicide d00d.) And it turned out pretty well.

I first used FuFu, sending CyDra and 3 Quillbolts to the Grave, and then discarded Dandylion to summon Quickdraw, getting 2 Fluff Tokens, setting Mirror Force, Ultimate Offering, and Imperial Iron Wall.

On his turn I flipped up Iron Wall, and sent back his monsters with Mirror Force.

Then, discarding a CyDra, I summoned another Quickdraw, and Synchro'd with Fluffz for Nitro Warrior. Then, I activated the effect of the three Quillbolts, summoning them up, summoned Plasma, summoned Quillbolts again due to Imperial Iron Wall, and activated Ultimate Offering for Mobius, which eliminated his backrow, and attacked for game.

Eh, I needed a filler.

Any suggestions on its removal?

And do you think the Deck would be slightly competitive?

Because on the Test Duel it was godly fast, I could barely fit any more monsters on the field.

Chucked Mass Driver in with some changes for a last resort finisher.

-1 Reckless Greed

+1 Ultimate Offering

Is the first thing I see. Ultimate Offering is semi'd and allows you to summon Monarchs during their Battle Phase.

That is really exactly what I was thinking' date=' I was building this on YVD, ditched the Reckless for Ultimate, and then saw your comment. xD

How do you think this'll run?

It was a pretty random thought I had and it was incredibly fun to swarm the field with 5 cards on the second turn. ;D

I'm getting a bit cautious of Starlight Road.

Maybe -1 Mobius, +1 Raiza?

And I just had an awesome finisher of a duel - he activated JD's nuke effect, I chained with Ultimate Offering, got out Caius when he had 800 left, and removed Caius to take the crucial 1000. :[b'][/b]D

That wouldn't work since Ultimate Offering can only activate during your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase as stated on the card. However, you can use it to summon a Monarch during a chain if it's in your main phase or opponent's Battle Phase.

-2 Mobius

+2 Raiza

I didn't see the Mobius when I looked through before, otherwise I would have said that. I can't give much help, I'm not familiar in either Monarchs or Quickdraw varients.

It's not really a Quickdraw Variant, but an overall Monarch build, with a definete Win Condition, and insta Monarch Swarm which takes out the field, with Quillbolts.

This really is a Quillbolt Monarch Deck. :l

Thanks for the comment. ^^

@Fayaz:

Ehh, not really.

Because I have enough Tributes to come as it is, and A Cat of Ill Omen is my searcher for Imperial Iron Wall, and if I have that, possibly Ultimate Offering.

And, I like the way Cat runs here, getting my Trap Buddies out. It actually saved me once getting a 2nd Imperial because the next turn Imperial was destroyed.

But really if I have Imperial, a Tuner, and Future Fusion, and maybe Mass Driver, it's game over. But I can easily get Monarchs out for elimination here.

Yeah' date=' I don't like Cat of Ill Omen, but IIW is needed to really let the deck shine. You may want some negation to protect IIW, it helps a lot of decks to be on the field, but they may decide it's better to remove it than let it stay.

[/quote']

Normally I get IIW, then followed by Cat, so I get a second most of the time so it kind of is backup. :D

This runs better than I thought, actually. o.O

Yeah' date=' the deck doesn't need IIW to be fast and effective, but to abuse Mass Driver it does. You may want to try a varient where it attempts to work without IIW and Mass Driver, simply for proof of concept, so that you can make this deck less dependent on IIW. I don't think it is, but it wouldn't hurt.

[/quote']

It's not that dependant, but hell it's fun. Even without IIW and Mass Driver it runs effectively 'cos it can still get 3 Monarchs out with the Quillbolts and Ultimate.

Eh, I have loads of control cards for Monarch Abuse, and hell this Deck is fun. :D

Maybe take out 1-2 Mass Driver to make room for other stuff? You could make Creature Swap work with Quillbolt.

Oh, yah. If you're going to run IIW, Caius is going to be a problem here. As DAZ said, try this deck without IIW.

I would try something like this out:

Monsters: 20

2 Caius the Shadow Monarch

2 Raiza the Storm Monarch

2 Quickdraw Synchron

2 Cyber Dragon

1 Tragoedia

1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness

3 Quillbolt Hedgehog

2 Debris Dragon

2 Dandylion

1 Krebons

1 Plaguespreader Zombie

1 Sangan

Spells: 11

2 Book of Moon

2 Pot of Avarice

2 Gold Sarcophagus

1 Foolish Burial

1 Brain Control

1 Mind Control

1 Heavy Storm

1 Giant Trunade

Traps: 9

2 Bottomless Trap Hole

2 Dimensional Prison

2 Ultimate Offering

1 Starlight Road

1 Mirror Force

1 Torrential Tribute

*facepalm* How didn't I see the Caius/IIW conflict' date=' I feel stupid now...

Oshi-

@Xander:

Just saw your edit.

I like it, but really overall I wanted a Quillbolt OTK with Mass Driver, probably too much to reach for. :/

I'll see how yours runs.

If your running the IIW build, just replace Caius with Raiza to avoid the conflict maybe?
