Guest PikaPerson01
Dimensional Prison, Mirror Force, Bottomless Trap Hole, Dust Tornado, Royal Oppression, Blank Imprisoning Mirror in the side. With all these cards running about free in the meta, why doesn't Royal Decree see more use?
BulletMan
Don't forget Road. Heavy Storm, Trunade, MST are obvious. But I don't know. Maybe people want to play their own traps. guy #1: attack!guy #2: *flips trap* IT'S A TRAP!guy #1: And this is my wall *flips Decreeguy #2: FUUUUUUUUUUUU-
lucasmon
Well the probleme is:this card is Semi-limited now.
evilfusion
Because in order to make really good use of Decree, you need to run few traps of your own. Otherwise, it'lll give you dead draws, too, while giving you no defense. I just as soon run Jinzo. Can still run all my traps (to use while I wait for Jinzo), and have a 2400 monster body to back up my trap-negating.

They key to Royal Decree is not being an idiot when you play it... maybe that's why it sees less play.

There are plenty of viable quick-play spells that can replace traps, and Battle Fader pretty much replaces Threatening Roar. It being Semi'd hurt a bit, you can always replace the 3rd with Solemn/Trap Stun.
Canadian
ITT: I feel that decree isn't ran as much anymore because people (people who know how to play) only run about 4-8 Traps. Most of the gameplay is with a newfound passion for Quick-Play Spells. And rather than preventing use, or blocking one Trap from activating, it's much easier to just have S/T destruction/removal cards. But, if you can find space for maybe one that doesn't disturb the balance of your deck, than by all means. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it.

Your argument is lacking. Simply put, if a card is good whether or not it's semi-limited should have no credence on whether or not it's run. You might be making the argument that Royal Decree isn't good, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask to see some proof for that.
Professional Duelist
I'm saying you shouldn't compare a broken monster thats semied/limited to a trap that doesn't give you an advantage except from preventing trap cards from being activated thats semied. TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
The key to Royal Decree any decent card is not being an idiot when you play it... maybe that's why it sees less play. For some reason' date=' people do not like semi'd cards, probably due to "consistency" issues, but whatever, royal decree is awesome, but hey, Jinzo even saw play again with Peter Cheng's deck. Also, asking some players to not be idiots with playing card games is like asking the sun to not shine, with [b']every[/b] game there will always be noobs, with the internet there will always be trolls, its just something we all have to deal with by crushing the hopes and dreams of the noobs and trolls until they learn how to play games or post online properly. Akira
Royal Decree is a hypocrite! And I suppose the logic goes that players would rather follow suit as everyone else by running lots of defensive traps in favour of maining a semi-limited card for the price of not playing so many other traps. It worked better at 3 with regards to focus (obviously), though I suppose at 2 people could be more flexible and still easily get away with running the standards like Bottomless and Torrential.
