Yeah I watched that before the lessons...really sad for the North Koreans because they showed such a fairness and determination. I don't know what happened to their defence, they played good in the first half, almost like the Brazil game, but after that the goals just dropped and dropped. Jong Tae-Se didn't have an opportunity to attack in front of such an attack-minded team either.

But congrats to Portugal, they really gave everything and deserved their win!

Now I hope the match NK vs Ivory Coast will be a honorable one like Brazil, even though NK never had a real chance to survive the group. I mean, to be in a group of 3 giants and having not been at the World Cup for 50 years, plus having no international experience since the country is so recluse... I really really hope Tae-Se is going to score a goal against Ivory Coast and join an European team soon.

And I actually cried a little when Korea DPR lost to Brazil.

It was like one of those miraculous "underdogs can be champions" sports movies gone horribly wrong.

Anyway' date=' [b']if Portugal can't score on Ivory Coast, they can't score on DPRK either[/b], so it should be all good.

You totally mis read that one didn't you. Just like i did with New Zealand.

Unbelievable. France is out' date=' England is about to get kicked off the competition and Italy...Will this World Cup become the "War of the underdogs"?

[/quote']

Hardly unbelievable.

Everyone knew that France will do something stupid. Only Brits think that England's team is good. And Italy has a bunch of pensioners.

The only surprise for me was Spain - Switzerland.

Yes. Now yes.

Italy started playing the last few minutes but it was too late. Ya know, it's allowed to give effort from the first to the last minute, for crying out loud.-.-

Well' date=' Italy is the only worth rival in our group, so I think Paraguay will survive very well the first round. Our striker was shot in the head (by mexicans, of course), so we nationalized a guy born in Argentina with paraguayan parents. His record with the team of it's new country is 1 goal each match. When the news of him getting the new nationality was revealed, Argentina was like "No, Diego!, how could you forget Lucas Barrios?!"

Slovakia shouldn't be underestimated. They've got a fairly good team. tbh there is a chance that both you and Slovakia will qualify. Italy are terrible right now.

No Totti, no party!

:D

+1 internet for me.

EDIT: JAPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

I bet that they have reread all Captain Tsuabasa chapters to prepare themselves for the World Cup. :D

Well Paraguay has to beat Japan but tbh I don't think that's going to happen. But you never know...

Anyway tomorrow I'm cheering for North Korea against Ivory Coast, even though they're both out and it's a honour match. Honour matches are usually awesome so go underdogs!

I want to see Jong Tae-Se score a goal, he didn't have any real occasion to shine last time since Portugal blocked all the attempts to attack.

It'd be interesting to see them slide-tackling guys with their foot at groin-level like in the series. But man' date=' that was an [i']awesome [/i]series.

Portugal-Brazil in a few hours, can't say I'm ecstatic about it since I don't like our line-up too much and Brazil has been lacklustre; the fact both are practically qualified won't add much to the motivation factor either.

I'd love to see Spain-Argentina in the finals though. Or Japan-Slovakia.

It was painful to watch the 7-0 loss against Portugal.

Y'know, I actually kinda liked it! :P
