Saviero shielded his face, Life Points flashing to 0. "Damn... Good game, Madeline."

Saviero yawned, shutting down his duel disk. "I shouldn't have rushed... One question, though..."

Saviero reached into his duel runner, pulling out his Divine Destroyer and showing it to Madeline. He wouldn't normally show his card to anyone if it wasn't destroying them in a duel, but he wouldn't normally lose, either. "Had this been out with my Jinzo and Spell Canceler, would you have a counter? If not, I have a deck thinning issue I need to work out..."

This card can only be Summoned by Fusion Summon. This card can only be Fusion Summoned by removing from play 5 Level 8 or higher Machine-Type monsters from your field or Graveyard, and at least 3 of the Fusion Material Monsters for this card must be from your field. (You do not use "Polymerization"). Spells, Traps, and Effect Monster effects cannot be activated in response to the Fusion Summon of this card. The ATK and DEF of this card is equal to the total ATK and DEF of the Fusion Material Monsters used for the Fusion Summon of this card, respectively. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can send this card to your Spell and Trap Card Zone to have it treated as 5 Equip Spell Cards or send this card from your Spell and Trap Card Zone to your Monster Card Zone in face-up Attack Position. A monster equipped with this card while it is treated as an Equip Spell Card by this effect gains 1/5 the ATK and DEF of this card while this card was treated as a monster. While this card is treated as 5 Equip Spell Cards, if a Spell Card is destroyed, this card loses 1/5 its original ATK and DEF if it is Special Summoned to the field as a monster. Once per turn, during your Battle Phase, you can halve the ATK and DEF of a monster equipped with this card and pay 1000 Life Points to destroy all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls. If a monster equipped with this card while it is treated as an Equip Spell Card would be destroyed, the Equip Spell Card is destroyed instead.

Madeline stared at the card with a very evident 'WTF is this?' expression on her face. This was the single most complicated card she had ever seen in her life. Not only did it appear to be the absurdly difficult monster to summon, but it had the strangest effect ever.

"If you had Spell Canceller out, its Equip effect would be wasted," she noted. "Would I have an out? Definitely." She held up the cards in her hand, revealing Substitoad, Unifrog, and Swap Frog, the last one evidently her draw for that turn. "I could combo my Ronintoadin with Substitoad to summon 2 Dupe Frog and a Flip Flip Frog, at the very least," she said. "Forming an attack lock and the ability to bounce your monsters," she explained, remembering how that combo had utterly demolished Kane in her duel with him.

She chuckled and returned her cards to her deck. "Fun game, I'll admit."

"Meh, I'd probably just get it out without Spell Canceler to use Limiter Removal and them Mystic Wok for a good 25000 Life Points... It was a fun game."

Saviero scratched the back of his head. "Yeah... Defeat doesn't feel too great. Well, I guess there's nothing else to do right now."

The adolescent put away his deck, smiling.

"What now? I've already confirmed you're the better duelist... For now... So what happens next?"

Madeline looked around. "May as well make sure most people got out okay, see if anyone's gotten to safety, you know? Figure out what's going on, too." I'll play the nice girl with him for now, since I do owe him for ensuring I didn't die. But I need to get back to the business of wiping souls clean. And I know just who I want to face... she thought about Kane and his dragon. He made a fool of her once already, and she would make sure it wouldn't happen again.

With the power out, and the report of earthquakes and damage, no one will be too alarmed by people never waking up...

Saviero sighed. "I guess so... I'll go towards the main stadium. See you later, I suppose. Next time, I'm not waiting to use my last Jinzo, nor am I screwing myself up with Future Fusion..."

Saviero ran back into the main stadium, despite it being the most unstable section of the structure. He dodged some falling debris, then looking around. "Damn... It's too dark, and this place is still creaking from structural instability."

Aster looked up at him. "Umm, ok I don't see why not." Aster said. Something was off with this guy... this time he wasen't going to ignore it, "And who knows it could have something to do with the whole destiny thing." He thorugh. "I'll start."

Aster drew his hand and smiled. "I activate my Ritual Soul spell card, now I can ritual summon as many times as I want, and the second effect of this spell lets me add one ritual spell from my deck to my hand." Aster selected his Ordean's Sacred Ritual and placed it in his field spell slot."

"Next I summon Ordean Blader in attack mode [lv 4 1900/1200] and with my spell I play I can tribute him to summon the Ordean Holy Knight in my hand [lv 2100/2000], I end my turn with a facedown."

Yamato's eyes widened with surprise. "Rituals, eh?" He murmured loud enough for Aster to hear. A worthy choice, and I shall do the same.

"I draw!" He held out the card to the side and moved his eyes so that he could see it. "I Special Summon 'Cyber Dragon' by it's effect! I'm sure you already know, but if you control a monster, but I don't, I can Special Summon him from my hand!" A silver flame erupted from the ground and a long shining metal serpent appeared from the flames.

*response cut*

"I tribute my 'Cyber Dragon' to Summon 'Crimson Beast - Storm Eagle'!"

*response cut*

With the same fashion of "Cyber Dragon", except with red flames, and an eagle with green crystals on its wings with a glowing red aura appeared. With his effect, I can bring out 'The Realm of the Crimson Spirits' from my deck and add it to my hand. And I'm sure you know what I'm going to do! I play 'The Realm of the Crimson Spirits'!"

*response cut*

The effect was instantaneous. A ring of red flames erupted from the ground, surrounding them, and the red aura around "Storm Eagle" became brighter, but he seemed a bit tired. "But still, he's going to be removed from play because I have no other monster besides him. That's about to change! I Special Summon 'Crimson Beast - Hyper Koala'! And by 'Storm Eagle's' effect, I can bring him back! Now I bring the two together with a Synchro Summon!" "Crimson Beast - Storm Eagle" became a tornado, sucking up "Hyper Koala" and began to shine brightly. "The flames of destiny are bright, but become brighter as a new torch takes its place! Go, 'Crimson Beast MKII - Tempest Falcon'! I place 2 face-downs and attack your 'Holy Knight'!"

2900 ATK > 2100 ATK

*response cut*

The knight shattered into pieces as the shockwave hit it. Yamato grinned and said, "Turn End!"

Ran simply sat there, drinking coffee. He didn't really even care about the earthquake-whatever. And Protheus could only stay there, confused.

Hah? Shouldn't you be evacuating or whatever? He asked.

Evacuating? Hah! As if! Hahahahahahahha!

....uhuh. Right, whatever.

RRRRAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares about that stupid black doppelganger?

"I activate my Ordean's Sacred will, this lets me take a card from my grave and add it to my hand, and I think i'll chose my Ordean Sacred Ritual, and since I can't use my field spell version I think i'll activate it's second effect if I remove it from the game I can add Ordean's Ritual to my hand, it's basicly the same card only it can only be use once." Aster placed the card in his hand.

"And heres where it gets fun, I summon Ordean Glider [lv 4 1800/1200] and with it's effect I can summon any lv 2 or below monster from my hand so welcome Ordean Lore Beast [lv 2 400/200] and with it's effect I flip the top two cards on my deck and add one to my hand."

And now, i'll activate my Ordean's Ritual and tribute my two monsters for a total of six stars to summon, my Ordean Spell Lord [lv 6 2300/2150] and with it's effect i can automaticly add the spell ordean sared spell book to the field, it lets me add any equip spell from my deck to my hand each turn, so I'll pick ordean tundra rage giveing my spell lord 1000 extra points [3300/2150], destroy his monster." "What the?!" Kane exclaimed as the building shook. Astrum hovered, around, looking concerned. "Something's not right here... New domino isn't near any fault lines..." he said, making sure the room was safe while talking. The lights fickered back on, and the loudspeaker came to life. "Attention: do not be alarmed. The stadium is undamaged and on backup power. The tournament will continue as scheduled. The next match will be announced shortly." it bellowed.

---

Tyson Veldt knocked on Derek Enzyme's office door. After waiting for just under one second, he forcefully opened it, and looked at his "boss" with a face of irritation. "This tournament is a waste of my time!" He yelled angrily while slamming the door shut and brandishing Earthbound immortal Uru, proving his status as a Sin. " So, I'm gonna end it, Understand!?" He grinned menacingly. "I've already started, any questions, Enzyme?" He asked, leaning on the wall.

Derek raised his eyebrow, keeping a calm expression when the youth, confirmed by Uru to be the Sin of Wrath, barged in and made some sort of a demand. "Just one," he said, about to say 'are you out of your mind?' or similar, but the Wicked Avatar seized the opportunity, Derek's eyes subtly changing to a cool gray hue.

"What will you be doing, dear Wrath?" the Avatar inquired, in Derek's tone and mannerisms. It could sense the opportunity approaching, a time to accelerate the plans. Now that the Eraser had come to the games, the Avatar was tired of waiting. Subtlety was Derek's idea, not the Avatar's.

Tyson laughed, seeing that they were on the same page, although his angry expression remained. "Well, for starters, I made that earthquake just now, using a few seismic generators." he said, putting Uru away. "Mass anxiety and fear are required for the ritual that I'm carrying out. You see, by making the audience afraid, they are instinctively drawn to something normal: my duel." He laughed again at what would come next. "I've modified my duel runners hologram projector to make Uru extremely large. Thus, his summoning will require a large amount of souls to be present in the duel. With the audience being drawn to the match, they will make perfect food for him, and will help to revive your 'component'." He said referring to the piece of the Chaos lord that the avatar was supposed to awaken. " All I need to do is heat things up a little and... boom hehehehe." He laughed.

Yamato's eyes widened. He reached for his set Quick-Play Spell. "I activate 'The Beast Within'! When a 'Crimson Beast' monster battles with a monster with higher ATK than it, I can increase it's ATK by the attacking monster's level x 75!" "Crimson Beast MKII - Tempest Falcon's" ATK went up by 450, becoming just 50 more than Spell Lord's ATK. Spell Lord's burst of ice was met by a gust of wind that reversed it's path, going back towards Spell Lord.

"Impressive idea," the Avatar admitted. That would wipe out the entire need for the tournament setting, and eliminate everyone in one fell swoop, that is, everyone not in possession of an Earthbound Immortal or Wicked God. The cards the Sins and Heralds carried had been infused with the aura to protect them from the summoning of one of their kind.

"I like your idea. Go nuts," the Avatar said at last. "But don't you dare lose. Your opponent will not be sacrificed until the duel is over." It had not originally occurred to Derek that the Wicked Gods sought not just duelists, but all souls. Taking out the audience and the other duelists...finish a large portion of the mission in one fell swoop.

"......and that's just about it." Protheus finished. Ran just finished his cup of coffee.

"So let me get this straight: You knew the earthquake was artificial and was a plot by the Sin of Wrath and you only decided to tell me NOW?"

"Well, he's telling it to the other Herald, so I just decided it to be appropriate. By the way, where's Itsu? I think she disappeared."

"Ah, I don't care about her, just leave her be."

"By the way, the entire tournament is about to be eaten by Uru."

"Oh......Wait, what?" Ran was now just officially surprised.

Aster smiled this time he had the upper hand. "I activate my Ordeans Sacred Light, whenever my monster does battle wit a stronger monster this gives it a 400 point boost! [3700/2150] Sorry but your birdies not flying high today." Aster smiled watching Yamato's bird fall. "And with my sacred light and tundra spells worn off my spell lord returns to it's normal stringth." [2300/2150]

"Well then, I'm off." Tyson said, slamming the door hard on his way out. The loudspeaker boomed once again "The next match will be a Turbo duel between Tyson Veldt and Missy Opal. Both duelists please report to the track. Again, both duelists please report to the track." Tyson walked down to the duel garage, quickly, so as not to miss this opportunity for destruction. He walked over to his machine, a black, generic looking duel runner with flame decals, and started it up. "Time to have some fun." he thought to himself as he drove out of the pit and onto the track, taking the lead starting position.

Inside the office, the Avatar relinquished its control, leaving Derek feeling a little bewildered. "He's going to do WHAT?!"

The Avatar chuckled internally. "Let it go, Mr. Enzyme. Everything's under control. Our control, that is."

--

Missy drove onto the track, mounting an older Runner that had been painted with a light pink color. She wasn't a pro Turbo Duelist, and so couldn't afford a really fancy Runner, but the one she had was reliable enough. Noting her opponent was already in position, she moved into the second spot, smiling over at her opponent. "Good luck," she said politely.

DAMMIT, NO!

Aifeldt noticed around him that something besides the earthquake was...wrong. There was too much shaking in random places for it to be real. It had to be faked, and he figured that only one of the Sins or Heralds would try something so desperate. But for what reason? He left in the direction of the tournament's main office, looking for the one man who could resolve all of this. He was ready to do what he needed to, but as per his nature, he need confirmation of a reward...

Yamato flinched as his Tempest Falcon shattered into pieces. His sacrifice was worth it. "I activate 'Soul Split'! When a 'Crimson Beast' monster is destroyed in battle, I can Special Summon 1 Spirit 'Crimson Beast' monster from my deck with less than or equal to Level! The monster I choose is 'Crimson Beast MKII - Frost Pegasus', in Defense Position!" A majestic blue pegasus with flaming turquoise wings surrounded by a red aura appeared and flew towards Spell Lord, carrying it towards back to where it was summoned. "And by it's effect, I can take control of a monster you control with lower DEF than him until the End Phase. Oops... did I say the End Phase? I meant, my End Phase." He laughed.

"Alright, it's my turn, draw!" He looked at the card and added it to his hand. "I tribute your Spell Lord to bring out 'Crimson Beast MKII - Inferno Lion'!" A magnificent lion surrounded by a red aura appeared. "I place 1 card face-down and attack with both of them!"

5200 ATK > 7200 LP > 2000 LP

"Turn End!" The lion became a red flame and came towards Yamato, dying out. "Because Lion was a Spirit, he returns, but not Pegasus, for he was Special Summoned!" Then, two tiny flames appeared next to Pegasus. "During the End Phase, I can Special Summon 2 'Crimson Beast Tokens' in Defense Position!" He ignored the announcement.

Tyson stared at her menacingly, then turned his head forward, ready to drive. "You should wish YOURSELF luck, you'll need it." He thought, activating Speed World as he did so. The referee spoke into the microphone "Duelists! Start your engines!". A robotic arm came down from its retracted position on the starting gate, holding a flag. It waved it in motions signaling a countdown. "Three. Two. One. Go!" the referee yelled as the duelists took off. "I'll take the first move!" Tyson called into the intercom as he drew his hand. "I Draw! For my first card, I Summon Volcanic Slicer (1800/1200)! Then I set two cards face down, and end my turn." With that, his speed counter meter went up to one, and he accelerated.

Jane realized that she had left Kane right before the earthquake. She started to freak out a little.

"Oh no! Kane! We have to go find him Elliot! He was in the stands before I left him... You don't think he... never mind! We have to go!" she grabs his wrist and tugs as if to run to the area in which she last saw Kane. She was worried that perhaps she was getting too emotionally tied to this entire tourney and that something bad would come out of it, but she was only an 18-year-old girl. How could she possibly NOT get emotionally tied?

"What?! I hope Kane's alright- Whoa!" Elliot was interrupted by Jane pulling him. "Jeez, Jane, I think Kane is not in that deep of trouble. You gotta calm down, I'm sure Kane is looking for us too and wouldn't want to see you like this alright? Jane, you've gotta get a hold of yourself." Elliot said in a serious tone as he stopped Jane and held onto her shoulders. "Now, let's just calmly look around. Doesn't mean we can't run, but becareful, promise me that, alright?"

The spirit of the card mentaly spoke to him this time, thank god. "I know and i'll keep an eye out." Aster then activated Ordean Sacred Spell Book.

"With my turn starting i get to add another equip spell to my hand thanks to my Ordeans Sacred spell book." Aster rummaged through his deck and picked a card.
