Dark
Probability doesn't exist. Then what does? Pre-determination' date=' duh.[/quote'] He's right. "Probability" only exists when you are assuming that you randomly roll a dice or flip a coin, which is impossible for us to achieve at the moment. For some odd reason, my school stuck probability with geometry as opposed to algebra or something else. I still remember that one problem I had trouble on... What is the probability that you will pull a Queen or a Spade out of a 52-card deck? Okay, so 4 Queens. And 13 Spades. So it's 17 out of 52, right? No, it's 16. The Queen of Spades is only one card, but satisfies both categories. ...I hate that question. D:

~/Coolio Prime\~
but once you know your fate' date=' It can change.[/quote']That completely goes against pre-determination, and fortune telling is bullshit. I don't really get why I bother saying this stuff when the only people that would ever grasp it here like Dark already understand. ok if fate doesnt exist' date=' then what does?[/quote']Fate is real, it's just a more spiritual way of approaching pre-determination. Dark
That completely goes against pre-determination If you know your "fate", and it involves rolling a die that lands on four, for example, if you changed the way you rolled your die (put a fan in front of the die, for example), and it didn't land on four, wouldn't your "fate" change? But then again, that not landing on four would already set a pre-determined path for something else. So you changed your "fate", but you still have another one set in stone. Hymn
that questions a b****' date=' but your right, everything is predertimined at birth, we all have a fate, thats why fortune telling is possible, but once you know your fate, It can change.[/quote'] How very religious of you. As I'm sure you were unaware, none of what you have said can truly be proven. This is one of the debates philosophers have been having for years. How can you truly know your fate? Even if you are sitting in a room with fifteen guns pointed at your head, can you really know that you're about to die? Maybe a car bomb goes off outside and the gunmen are so preoccupied with the incident that you are able to sneak away? Please tell me how you could ever know your fate. On top of that, how can you change your fate, even if you know it? Do you own a dictionary? If so, look at the definition of fate. Your whole "everything is predetermined at birth" thing just goes back to the debate I alluded to earlier. How exactly do you know this? If you're going to give us your beliefs, preface the post with "in my opinion" or "I believe that", or else you're claiming things to be fact and people will find you stupid. your post = bullshit Good comeback. This post is a good reason why most sites don't allow religious or any other hot-topic discussions. No need to get angry with others challenging your beliefs... That completely goes against pre-determination If you know your "fate"' date=' and it involves rolling a die that lands on four, for example, if you changed the way you rolled your die (put a fan in front of the die, for example), and it didn't land on four, wouldn't your "fate" change? But then again, that not landing on four would already set a pre-determined path for something else. Dark
I'm not quite sure I understand your example. Would you mind re-iterating it? Assuming you could see into the future, or at least that is what this example is based upon. Putting it into a real-life example, if you roll a four on a die you win a million dollars. Now, you see in the future that if you roll it with the two facing up, it will land on the four. And thus, your pre-determined "fate" will make stuff happen from that event. But let's say you are an idiot and don't want to win. From your knowledge, you know NOT to roll it with the two facing up. So, it lands on three or something. And you don't win. You, in a sense, changed your "fate". But now by rolling a three, you have yet another pre-determined "fate" that you follow. But you still defied what was originally supposed to happen. But Corporal summed it up well by saying it was a "false fate". Does the probability of 0% exist? Roll a die with all six sides being four and pray it doesn't land on a corner. Womi
Does the probability of 0% exist? Roll a die with all six sides being four and pray it doesn't land on a corner. Yet the probability of this happening is not 0.00.
~/Coolio Prime\~
Does the probability of 0% exist? Possibly. What's the probability of an unstoppable force and immovable object existing in the same universe? I'd say it's impossible as their definitions counteract one another.
