But before I introduce them... Archetype BanhammerContinuous TrapWhen this card is activated, both players declare 1 word each. All cards with either of the words in their card name on the field are destroyed, no monsters can be Summoned if they have either of the words in their card name, and no Spell or Trap cards can be activated that have either of the words in their card name. This card gains effects based on the result: Heads: Once per turn, you can send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard. All "Archetype" monsters gain that monster's effects until the End Phase. The Tails effects of all "Arcana Force" monsters you control are negated.Tails: The effects of monsters you control, except the Tails effect of "Arcana Force EX - The Archetype" are negated. Blakkh, Archetype of Dark World1600/1000Level 4DARK AttributeFiend/EffectIf this card is in your hand, when an "Archetype" or "Dark World" monster in your hand is discarded by a card effect, you can show it to your opponent to draw 1 card or Special Summon it to your side of the field. If this effect is activated, you must discard 1 card.[/quote'] See, with Darkworlds, the "cost" has to be the last thing in the effect.Since Darkworld's have that "discard via cost = wont work" ruling and what-not, you have to have the effects work backwords(effect first, discard later, for example) Link to comment

Mysty Posted June 14, 2010 Report Share Posted June 14, 2010 Arcana Force EX - The Archetype isn't too clear. I can't even tell what the Heads effect is supposed to be. Also, if it negates the effects of all monsters you control, that means it negates itself. Maybe the Tails effect should be: Negate the effects of all monsters you control, except the Tails effect of "Arcana Force EX - The Archetype". Archetype Banhammer seems to be able to hammer many Archetypes at once with just one word, let alone two, but I can see two balances it out. I mean, "Lady" takes out most Harpies as well as Fortune Ladies, as well as a few other cards. "Dark" kills all the Dark Counterparts, Dark World cards, and a few other fiends. Wait, would naming "Dark" kill "Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness", even though the Japanese name is "Messenger of Hades - Gors"? I see some flaws in it and it seems like it would kill entire decks, so I don't see it too likely and only too practical. It could actually bring back Attribute and Type decks (except for DARK decks, though) if it were made, but since it kills Konami's marketing of archetypes, it would NEVER be made.Oh yeah, is it immune to if somebody chose the word "Archetype" or "Banhammer"? As for the archetypes, quite interesting. I'm not sure if I like Gladius. Being able to ditch 3 cards and Special Summon all three if they are "Lightsworns" or "Archetypes" just by ditching a card kinda worries me, but since none of the Archetypes or Lightsworns that can be Special Summoned are powerful, it doesn't worry me too much.Don't forget "Dark Archetype" though (anime card):DARK Level 4 [spellcaster / Effect]ATK 1400 DEF 400Anime effect: If this card is destroyed by battle, you can select 1 monster from your Deck with an ATK equal to the Battle Damage you received, and send monsters whose total Levels are equal to the Level of the selected monster from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon the selected monster.Tag Force 3 effect: When this card is destroyed by battle, you can Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck with an ATK less then or equal to the amount of Battle Damage you received from a battle involving this card. Either The Volcano is Special Summoned by Fusion Summon, or it is Special Summoned by the effect of any card if it was sent to the Graveyard by its own effect (namely, blowing the whole field up). @Mystery Guest: I probably should add a clause involving Archetype Banhammer being unable to banhammer itself. I already knew of Dark Archetype. EDIT: Since Archetype Banhammer only blocks the activations of Spells and Traps, and it was already activated, nothing to fix there. Link to comment

Banhammer prevents the activation of a card, and since Archetype Banhammer was already activated...so yeah. Archetype Banhammer can prevent the activation of other Archetype Banhammers, though.
