Kinda reminds me of the Elasmosaurus (another of my faves) These guys were the prehistoric ancestors of Killer Whales, and like them hunted in packs, which to an extent could be considered overkill. They actually competed with the Megalodon in the same time period, and like Killer Whales can do to a lesser extent, these guys could use echolocation not only to detect prey and send signals, but to send pulses through the nervous system of a creature and stun or kill it entirely.
