You can negate the activation and effect of a "Assault Mode Activate" you control to remove from play this face up card you control' date=' and a Synchro monster in your Graveyard Special Summon 1 "/Assault Mode" monster whose name includes the removed monster's name from your Deck in Attack Position, ignoring Summoning Conditions.[/quote']

This card's name is treated as "Assault Mode Activate". Send a Synchro Monster in your Extra Deck to your Graveyard. During your next Standby Phase' date=' Special Summon 1 "/Assault Mode" monster whose name includes the sent monster's name from your Deck in Attack Position. When this card is removed from the field, destroy the monster. When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.[/quote']

Do what you do, YCM.

Cheers,

Lust

The original idea was that if you didn't have the synchro on the field, you can still get the AM out, but that was impossible to word correctly. The way I worded it here originally made it so you can get two /AM's out at once.

This way, you do, as you said, a substitution.

Take the effect of "Miracle Fusion" as an example of what you want to do: Miracle removes the materials from the grave, so you could do an /AM version of it.

Im maybe wrong but when you negate Assault mode the true form is still on the field?

And you cannot activate assault mode if true form is in the graveyard.

No.

Assault says you just have to have a synchro monster on the field. Thats the only requirement.

So this is like a substitution...kind of. Instead of making an assault version of your synchro, you forgo that, and choose the one in the grave. However, because the monster is removed from play now, when your AM dies, you don't get your "true form" back.

However, you can still do this if you have...Brionac on the field. There is no AM for him, but you can still use AMA. It's basically making use of AMA even when you don't have the synchro on the field, which is one of the weaknesses of an AM deck.
