CCDiscussion: Because WC is far more Serious

Normally I'd place this in RC as a sticky, but I don't want their opinions (at least the ones that never visit here).

 

But for a while I've had the idea (which I've shared with -Griffin on numerous occasions and we've discussed it), to have a sort of CC Discussion. Which isn't the same as just discussing it in the cards thread <_< far more expansive (much to Falling Pizza's opinion).

 

So like... Do you all think that it would be possible to hold hearty discussions that include but don't exclude;

- Talking about various CCG's effect on the game.

- Comparing Created Cards to actual Cards in a more direct manner.

- Comparing Card Makers to one another, in a more respectful fashion.

- [include whatever else?]

 

Ideas/opinions?

Example posts?

Go nuts lol... (And Polaris, if you see this [which you always seem to for my threads that involve discussion]; I dont consider you part of any CC collective so dont bash me xD).

I don't completely follow...but...you mean a discussion about the CCG in general?

 

Well, I like to create cards that break pre-existing popular Archetypes and deck styles. For example, I made Gadget support and Synchros to make Machina Gadgets broken as heck.

 

So, to do this, it's a great idea to study the current gameplay styles discussed in My Deck and Yugioh TCG. It's also a great way to start making good cards...I wish I thought of this when I started making cards 2 years ago.

I am so onto this topic.

 

I think CCG's come from a combination of wanting to share your created cards/duel with them and resentment against the way the TCG is going so far. All the CCG's I've been in usually use cards that are less powerful on a standard than TCG cards but that can change. I would like to see the day when everyone would give up playing with Konami's cards and just make their own :D

 

I like them because it's totally up to the creators to build the game you play with. In comparing card creators, the CCG i am in has many card creators with unique strengths and weaknesses. I for example am good at creating simple level 4 or lower monsters/ simple spells and traps but I suck at making boss monsters. Other people, however are just the opposite. They make awesome boss monsters but when it comes to simple effects they aren't strong in that area. It's cool to have a balance of styles, to try to simulate the TCG, at least, it's good parts.

What if you want to show people why this and this is so, or compare so and so (outside the CCG realms)? So people can learn in a more respectable fashion.

 

But I'm glad people like this. The problem is how to start it without having a formal section >_> lol... And having a flood of threads of it would be bad.

Ok, I see what you're saying. Lol I thought this was just about CCG's. In that case, I don't think I have anything more to say.

It can be, and I do like the idea.

 

However, it's not large enough to section it off from the rest (I already allow CCG threads in RC and WC respectively anyway). So do what you will, or ask questions about them here lol. I've got plans down the road for them, just nothing clearcut yet.

OT: I think people who make cards based on existing cards should look at current strategies utilized with the existing cards to make them as playable as possible IMO. It's good to think about what you want out of the card if you were to actually play in a real deck.

And how much do RC/CC people actually play the game to notice this? The comparisons would promote game-play and various other boosts. Also show others that Grammar isnt such a big deal as they're making it .-.. Especially if they're compared side by side.

 

CCG's could be used to have like...

rctest.set, and the rest for what we need. So the CCG's can more use on a more public front than a specific audience.

I think a good idea for can be starting this as a club?

I mean the purpose of this shall be enough to maintain the interested member active and the club itself can be extended to the correspondent section such as CC, TCG and Your Deck. The club will serve as a mean to discuss and analyze the aspects of the CC design using the tool provided for the mentioned sections. We can actually work progressively into what we attempt to..and finally help so much into the CC that we would in THE FUTURE be rewarded with the space needed no?

I do not regulate Clubs and I am not active there. So unless I set up something in CC as a club-ish thing. I will not be able to get to it at all.

We can certainly have a place for it here...doesn't actually matter where as much as such place exist....

 

Saying that I'm currently getting really into this thing. I may be a fairly more active member in WC....
