I rarely warn anymore' date=' as I find it useless to senior members. If you have been around for 2 months and exceed 300 posts, I am going to assume you have familiarized yourself what is and is not acceptable and have read the rules.

 

So if I catch you;

- Posting for +1, you will be banned.

- Flaming or Harassing, you will be banned.

- Swearing (dodging the filter), you will be banned.

- Excessive Minimodding and I do not see your name on the Report CP, you will be banned.

- Trolling, you will be banned.

And all other implied rules.

 

Do you get the idea? Time to start giving a crap or leave.

That is actually a bit funny. Because I don't see excessive for the first two rules, nor do I see a definition of trolling. You honestly can't validly ban someone for posting for +1 once. That is horribly bullshit, and I don't care if the person was here for 10 posts or 10000 posts. I can understand if someone constantly posts "good card 6/10", or "ocg bad good pic 2/3" over and over, then you can validly ban them for excessive spamming or excessive crap posts. But once posting "The OCG is off, maybe a 5/10." is not going to kill anyone, and I don't even think that should constitute as a warn.

 

I don't mind you banning people, as long as you have valid reasons. Mods never understand one thing, and that is a warning system exists. Yes, it is quite a shock. If someone spams, don't ban them for three days, unless it's a LOT of spam. Give them a 30% warn, and have it stack up. Seriously, if they are spamming, you can 30% warn them thrice and they will be on post-lock for six hours. You don't need to recklessly ban someone for spamming, unless they are doing it consistently, constantly, and in large quantity. Flaming and harassing is more serious, but you need to realize that in heated-up topics, some of it is going to be let out. You should be able to tell if it is intentional or not.

 

If someone makes a clearly bullshit post saying "atheists suck dik die in a fyre", you can expect a bunch of flaming calling that guy a moron, because to be frank, he is. Unless the poster starts swearing twenty times and makes a long, drawn-out fight, I don't see anything wrong. If someone says, "I don't really think atheism is a completely valid belief.", any sort of flaming is either trolling or should be accounted for a warn. You just can't outright ban someone, and you need to see it from their point of view.

 

Also, define trolling. Because YCMods didn't, don't, and probably won't understand what trolling is. Ever.

 

EDIT: Azrael banned people because they have been trolling or flaming or spamming for awhile. While I agree with his banning of those people, he should have warned them over time and eventually at 100% they would have been banned, and at that point you can change their ban time from three days to a week, if needed.

Normally, I'd be outraged. This isn't really an exception, I'm just too weary and preoccupied to really do much about it.

 

This latest series of bans is nothing more than an immature provocation, bans have proven to be nothing more in the past, they'll prove to be the same in years to come. Each ban plunges YCM further into political disarray. I expect that these affronts to our society are wholly motivated by boredom.

I only flat out ban when it comes to Inappropriate Content and Ripping.
