.Frostpaw
One of the daily obstacles I have to face when trying to be myself. My parents are divorced, and I live with my mom and paranoid grandparents. My grandparents are in charge of me when my Mom is at work, which is most of the time. I wear my hair long, but my grandparents think I'm fuxin gay, and try to prevent me from being myself. I'm not gay, and if I would tell what the label most stick on me is actually Emo, they'd look it up online. Knowing them, they'd read the "Emos are always depressed, cut themselves, and hate the world" BS. Discuss paranoid parents/guardians.
Grunt Issun
I thankfully dont have those, why dont you just edit a wiki page on emos and show them it?
Great Unclean One: VK
This is why I love my parents. All they care, is that I get a good paying job, a big house, and to take them in when they get old. Otherwise, they don't give a funk about anything else. What if they ask to see an article on a different website, to "confirm the information is valid?" That's likely knowing them.
Grunt Issun
Well...IDK then, it was worth a shot.just make somthing up about what you are, and then describe it to them, mabye you could call your self, ome? (emo)
Kitty
My mom is okay, but my dad is bad when he's drunk. You cannot stay on YCM when a drunk man is asking you what the hell you're doing and who you are talking to everytime you post. =/

Orza
My parents are fine. Although I think my mother is clincally depressed... she broke down crying when I lost a set of house keys. ¬¬
EliminateHRN
I don't have paranoid parents or even relatives really. However, my great-grandma won't even let me ride my bike at the library which is right across the streeet from their house. She can be a little overprotective. .Frostpaw
You know what, why should I give a f**k what they think of me? If they don't accept me for who I am, they don't really love me. I'm still goign to explain what's what.
Dismal Euphony
My parents aren't crazy at all. My mom just asks where I'm going and with who when I leave the house. Occasionally, she'll ask when I'll be home. Other than that, there's not a whole lot of questions asked. The past few nights I haven't been getting home until about 4 - 5 in the morning. She trusts my judgment most of the time.

Isn't being yourself about personality rather than about your hair? But about the hair, I'd say show them pictures of people who wear long, clean hair and don't look too feminine. Also try to find compromises, you're allowed to wear your hair long but show them that you always keep it clean and well-looking. That should calm them down.
