June 18th Locals report

Woke up Saturday morning, did some stuff. Was deciding between Sabers, Frog FTK, and Glads. I chose FTK because Glads have been doing badly, and I need to work on my Saber List.

 

Finally get the build down, and I play test like crap. I look on DGz/talk to my friend Russ about the build, he helps me. Get dropped off at the new card place and meet up with my team mates.

 

I get under-cutted in all my trades before tourny starts, and I just be like "lol" as the pairings are announced.

 

Round 1: Ben(Frog FTK) vs Russ(Blackwings)

I win the diceroll 3 to 2

Game 1: Draw Substitoad + Swap Frog in my first 5, Mass Driver was my 6th. I show him, he scoops up.

Game 2: He sets 3 backrow, summons Shura, ends. I Trunade, One-for-One out substitoad, summon unifrog, tribute unifrog for Swap, to dump ronin, rfg unifrog, to get poison draw frog. Tribute swap to dump a bunch of frogs in grave, save for my poison draw frogs and swaps. Finally get out my swap, to pop PDF, draw Mass Driver off my first PDF. He crows 1 Ronin, but I have the second.

He's like good games. We get up, report the match, with like 35 mins left in the round.. Guy doesn't believe me. I show him my deck, and he laughs. Calls it a stupid lucky deck.

 

Round 2: Ben(Frog FTK) vs ??? (Jank deck)

I lose the dice roll 6-2.

Game 1: He summons the tricky by discarding apprentice magician. summons Junk Synchron, revives Apprentice Magician, synchs into SDD and ends. I moray of greed and hand destruction to get the FTK.

Game 2: He sets a monster and ends. I open double driver, moray, 3 frogs. I draw into my combo and win.

Report match and guy is laughing. He wants to see the deck in action, to make sure I don't cheat.

 

Round 3: Ben (Frog FTK) vs Josh (Frognarchs)

I win the dice roll 5-4

Game 1: I set dupe frog, and end. He summons swap dumps Treeborn, hits into my dupe frog, bounces swap and then ends. I summon substitoad, dump a bunch of frogs, and end with the Dupe Lock. Opponent specials swap frog, drops Vanitys fiend. I was like " =/ " and i scoop.

Game 2: I do Swap + PDF shenanigans to get the FTK.

Game 3: He opens all monarchs. I dont draw the FTK, but I beat him down for two turns, then go off.

 

Round 4: Ben(frog FTK) vs. Matt (Sabers)

I lose the dice roll 4-2

Game 1: He gottom's loops me turn 1. :/

Game 2: I get him back with the ftk.

Game 3: He rips 2 cards in hand off me. I cant FTK, and he tramples me.

 

I make top 8, in second place.

 

Top 8: Ben (Frog FTK) vs Russ(BW)

I win dice roll 6-5

Game 1: summon substitoad, special swap frog, special swap frog, mill through deck, leaving me with 3 dupe frogs. He goes sirrocco, bora, bora gale. pumps bora, but forgets he cant attack. I draw hand des and end. He summons blizzard. bounces 2 of my dupe frogs. i take some damage and then FTK thanks to hand destruction.

Game 2: He opens shura + bww into gale and ends. I try to FTK with Mass Driver, but he has double crow. I fishborg blaster out colossal fighter, and 2 armory arm to FTK him the other way.

 

Top 4: Ben(frog Ftk) vs Dan(sabers)

I lose dice roll 2-1

Game 1: He cold waves, summons boggart knight, special dark soul in def. I set random frog and ends. He plays Cat, shows double faultrol. Must be nice.

Game 2: I FTK him silly. He complains about how busted the deck is.

Game 3: He thinks for like 10 mins, before playing Cat into double darksoul setting two back row and ending, getting two searchs. I play driver, he solemns. I do the other PDF + Swap frog shenanigans, hit moray, draw into my other Driver.

Top 2: Ben(frog FTK) vs Mike(Inferns)

We tie, then I win the dice roll 4-4, then 5-4.

Game 1: I moray into another moray + 2 frogs, I keep on thining my deck. I eventually hit my combo and win.

Game 2: He gets 3 barrier + sychros turn 1. I scoop.

Game 3: Opening Driver, One For One, and swap frog is good yugiohs.

 

Game lasted 5 mins, and people booed our match, talking about how FTKs are stupid and broke. I laughed. I got like 25 store cred. No one wants to trade with me, because "im gay." Me and my friend chill, but he notices his binder is missing 2 ghost stardust, a black rose, and a dark soul are missing.

 

We go to this really good pizza place and tons of girls there, celebrating some type of softball championship. We contemplate going over there, being all like "let me show you my raging earth :P" but we don't.

well done, although i personally would have gone with sabers or glads...

not a fan of the FTK....it's kinda boring.

It's boring but funny to see the face of an opponent being FTK'ed.

Personnaly, i go on Brooklyn Rage when i get FTK'ed 2 times in a match!!

Girls? Rule of Thumb: Girls never go to Yugioh tournaments. If they do, they are transsexual. Period.
