[Jay Jay] The Black Rose Archetype!

I've decided to work on a new set. It focuses on the Black Rose Archetype (namely Black Rose Dragon) and supports Plant-Type monsters. I'll add cards continuously as the thread progresses.

stigmaoftheblackrose.jpg

Original Effect:

Activate only if you control a face-up "Black Rose Castle". Remove from play 2 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 Plant-Type monster to place 1 Rose Stigma Counter on a monster your opponent controls. During your Standby Phase, take control of all monsters with a Rose Stigma Counter on them. When a Plant-Type monster or a "Black Rose" card would be destroyed, destroy 1 monster on the field with a Rose Stigma Counter instead.

Original Effect:

All monsters on the field are treated as Plant-Type monsters. Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard to Special Summon 1 removed from play Plant-Type monster. This card cannot be destroyed by the effects of Plant-Type monsters and "Black Rose" cards. When this card is destroyed, Synchro Summon 1 "Black Rose Dragon" from your Extra Deck. It cannot activate it's effect this turn.

First Errata'd Effect:

All monsters on the field are treated as Plant-Type monsters. Once per turn, you discard 1 Plant-Type monster to Special Summon 1 removed from play Plant-Type monster. This card cannot be destroyed by the effects of Plant-Type monsters and "Black Rose" cards. When this card is destroyed, Synchro Summon 1 "Black Rose Dragon" from your Extra Deck. It cannot activate it's effect this turn.

Original Effect:

You can discard this card to activate 1 "Black Rose Castle" from your Deck or Graveyard. Then, you can add 1 "Black Rose Knight" from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, if you control a face-up "Black Rose Castle", you Special Summon 1 "Black Rose Knight" from your hand. Increase the ATK of all Plant-Type monsters you control by 100 for each Plant-Type monster and "Black Rose" card on the field.

First Errata'd Effect:

You can discard this card to activate 1 "Black Rose Castle" from your Deck or Graveyard. Then, you can add 1 "Black Rose Knight" from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, if you control a face-up "Black Rose Castle", you Special Summon 1 "Black Rose Knight" from your hand. Increase the ATK of all face-up Plant-Type monsters you control equal to the number of face-up Plant-Type monster and "Black Rose" card on the field x 100.

Original Effect:

Activate only if you control a face-up "Black Rose" card. Destroy 1 card you control. Negate the effect of a card and remove it from play. Then, Special Summon 2 "Black Rose Vine Tokens" (Plant-Type/EARTH /Level 12/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position to your opponent's side of the field. The Tokens cannot be Tributed. When your opponent Special Summons a monster, destroy 1 "Black Rose Vine Token" your opponent controls and take control of the Summoned monster until your next End Phase. It cannot attack.

Original Effect:

1 non-Tuner Plant-Type monster - "Black Rose Dark Waste"

In order to Special Summon this card, subtract the Level of a Dark Tuner monster from the Level of 1 other monster you control; the value must equal the Level of this card. Once per turn, you can remove from play a Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard to add 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard to your hand. Then, you can take control of 1 Plant-Type monster your opponent controls. That monster's ATK becomes 0.

Comments from the Author:

This is above Tier 1. It's Tier 0 >=D

Trivia: Black Rose Castle is featured in the background of Black Rose Knight.

This Archetype focuses on the field and hand control AND Swarming.

When I say field control, i really mean Field Control.

Stigma of the Black Rose

Name: 2/2

Balanced: 3/3

OCG: 4.9/5

9.9/10

In the effect, when you wrote 'to place 1 Stigma Counter on a monster your opponent controls' you forget to add (Max. ?). ? = number. Wich will be:

'to place 1 Stigma Counter on a monster your opponent controls (Max. ?)'

--------------

Black Rose Castle

Name: 2/2

Balanced: 2.9/3 or maybe 3/3. :/

OCG: 5/5

Perfect.

Actually, that isn't quite necessary. It's only for cards who get too OP'd with a lot of Counters. This effect is once per turn, and you gain control of the monster during the Standby Phase. I want that 0.1 point back D:

*You earned a LEGEND-BADGE!*

These cards are seriously awesome!

Anyway, where did you get the pics from? self-made?

Only the effect of castle to summon BRDragon without costs is heavily OPed..

9,8/10

If that's OPed, then Geartown is extremely OP.

And no, I didn't make them.

Stigma of the Black Rose

Interesting choice of monster to make an archetype out of. First effect has 2 costs/drawbacks, having to have a Field Spell and removing from play 2 Plants in your Grave. Second, you can Tribute 1 Plant (which is great fodder for Black Rose) to place a Rose Stigma Counter on a monster. This can be a tad OP'd with Plants being able to produce Plant-Type tokens and somewhat swarm quite easily. After all of this, you get to take control of all monsters with a Rose Stigma Counter on them starting from your Standby, which is like a more supreme version of Mark of the Rose. Then, the last effect is a drawback with help. It can protect your Black Rose monsters and Plants, and at the same time, balance out the number of monsters you have taken control of. It might be OP'd since your opponent does not get the monster(s) back. 9.7/10

Black Rose Castle

First effect can be beneficial for many cards in the Plant-Type. Nice drawback of dumping a Plant to get out a Plant that is removed from play through cards like the above or Black Rose Dragon itself. Protects itself from Black Rose Dragons nuke effect and other Plant-Type effects, which can be helpful. It leaves an epic gift when it's finally destroyed, getting out Black Rose Dragon, with a cost though of not letting it activate it's effect that turn. Simplicity, helps the archetype, and is a good card overall. 9.8/10

Black Rose Knight

First effect is like a better version of Terraforming, even though it's specific. Automatically becomes fodder when in the Grave for most of this archetypes effects. Has decent swarm, getting out more of itself from the hand. Can also make most of this archetype lots of beaters, mainly because Black Rose monsters are Plants as well, pretty much making your archetype a +200 ATK, making them as high as a +1000 ATK on their own. A simple swarmer, with a great effect that can make some nice beaters. 9.9/10

Black Rose Archetype Review

By the looks of it so far, they rely heavily on their Field Spell to use their effects. They can also swarm easily from the hand and have control over the Battle Field, from nuking the Battle Field to taking control of your opponents monsters. They also rely somewhat heavily on the Graveyard and remove from play zone, which can somewhat be a problem. But they're are a lot of ways to counter cards that just might screw you over in the middle of a duel. Can easily become beatsticks shown by Black Rose Knights effect, which is great and might scare your opponent during the Battle Phase. Lots of other Plants that aren't in the archetype can easily be worked into the archetype itself. The archetype IMO isn't Tier 0 xD But possibly a 0.5, which is still better then Tier 1. The archetype though can be OP'd in some points, and I can see possibly the Stigma of the Black Rose being possibly Semi-Limited or Limited. Archetype gets a solid 9.9/10. I can't wait to see more.

The thing is, I didn't say "Black Rose" monsters, I said "Black Rose" cards, which, by itself, protects it. It also protects the field spell

Because of Black Rose Castle and itself, it already has 200 ATK. If it summons another copy, it'll have 600. Plus, since Black Rose Castle makes every monster a Plant-Type monster, it'd steadily increase.

Your rates alone make my day. I've been lazy and haven't made the next card. Anyway, I'll make in a minute. Already have an idea of what the effect is.

Black Rose Invasion

First effect has a drawback of destroying a card you control, which can be beneficial. Then, you get to piss off your opponent by negating and removing from play a card that can really hurt them like Stardust Dragon and such. You then flood your opponents field with 2 Tokens, which can be Tributed for anything, making them only be able to be destroyed by battle or by card effects, which is nice for pissing your opponent off even more. Then it has a bit of hating in it, taking control of a monster your opponent Special Summons at the cost of destroying 1 of 2 Tokens. It's only temporarily until your next End Phase though, and it can't attack. But if you take control of a monster like Brionac or Stardust, it won't need to attack. Seems a bit OP'd to me though. 9.9/10
