For any topic over a month old, it's better to just create your own topic. As for an IRC, we've mostly decided as a community that it would be detrimental to YCM, for multiple reasons including how it would probably decrease activity and also moderation-related stuff. Most of us already use Skype to talk with YCM friends in real time. We've also had mass YCM group chats on Skype before, but they never worked well.
