My friend has been banned for NO APPARENT REASON

ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN.

 

I have been a member of this site for months now and I have enjoyed being a part of it for so long. Today I invited my friend round and I showed him the site and he created an account under the name of Storm. He had just created 2 very good cards, I did help him with them though as he had never been on the site before. He has now suddenlt been banned from the forum and can no longer get on. I am appealing as to why he was banned. He admits that he started a contest without having 100 but I thought that this wasnt a legitimit rule and I thought that it certainly wasnt ban-worthy. I want him back on so please help me!!!!

Was he ever given his accountback?? See the rediculous thing is that I live in a house with my brother and several occasions he came close to joining the site. Therefore according to the logic of the MODERATORS if he would have joined and he would have been on his account in his room and I would have been on my account in my room the MODERATORS have grounds to ban him because of having the same IP adress WTF. So if we both wanted to go on YCM either me or him would have to go to an internet cafe I dont think so, thats rule is simply rediculous. I WANT TO LET ALL OF YCM KNOW, I WILL FIGHT TO GET HIM BACK!!!! Because you cant just chuck people off this site for having the same IP adress, think about brothers and friends on the site under the same group. This is an outrage and I will fight to get him back.

 

Umm Dude, if you are smack talking the site, why do you want your friend to have an account on it?

I'm not smacktalking the site, i'm voicing how unfair the situation is. Imagine If I go to an airport and the airline says you can't board the plane, I would be angry and I would voice my complaints that the situation was unfair. There is a difference between smacktalking and vocicng a complaint about a bad ruling. Just for the record

 

I LOVE THIS SITE and that is why i am fighting so hard.

I don't mean to be a buzz kill but actually, yes, they can just ban people. This is a forum not a democracy, the mods make the decisions to the best of their knowledge and act upon it. I feel for you but I just wanted to say this.

I agree some mods need to go, but not all of them are bad.

Because not everything is "perfect" for you its the mods fault? lulz. The mods right now are the best since I first joined back in 08.

*Sigh* >_> So he broke a contest rule. Did he post anything else? Did he spam status updates? Did he PM a bunch of people advertising s*** and got reported? Anything of such nature?

Nothing of the sort. His only activity on this site so far was creating two cards and posting them in the reaslistic card forum, creating a card contest, and reviewing a couple of cards on the forum itself. A moderator questioned why we both had identical ip addresses in his first thread, so we explained we were on adjacent laptops. Banning on suspicions of second accounts perhaps.

Storm was banned because he created an account using your IP Adress therefore the staff thought you double-accounted so they banned the double-account. I don't think he would be banned from making a contest without 100 or more posts so its more likely he was banned because the staff thought you were double accounting.

 

Next time you show a friend this site just show them the things they can do using your account. Then if they want to join they can make an account on their computer at their house.

Probably suspiscion of double accounting. you'll probably have to convince a super that you're not the same person

How would I go about doing that? I would happily skype whoever banned him to show our current set up, and thus prove his innocence.

 

Seriously I would like him back, who do I speak to

Its probably that, I think it happened to Pegasasu and Jerukoo (I think thats his name)

To make sure it didnt happen with me and my sister, we PM'd some supers, like Roxas

 

Yeah, that was temporary though, as they got it worked out.

SO THEN IF YOU HAD A BROTHER OR A FRIEND WHO CAME ON YGCM AND YOU 2 WERE SHARING THE SAME IP ADRESS AND YOU WERE BANNED IS THAT FAIR THEN???

So we made a mistake using the same IP adress i'm sure this happens all the time. What about brothers, you can't just chuck people off the site without questioning, in fact the mod asked us and we replied and explained to him what happened. I've PMed the moderator. This is completely unfair.

The same thing happened to me before. My friend made an account on my computer then when he logged in at his house, it said that his account was banned and the reason was multi accounts, but he made his own account. I feel your pain, sorry dude.
