Dr. Cakey
UPDATE: Crossroads of Chaos is done! Here's what I'm tackling next:The Duelist GenesisDuel Terminal - Synchro Awaken!! You know how you look over the list of stuff for a new pack, and maybe a quarter or so of those cards are worth playing? The rest are crap. Whole archetypes are totally worthless. Well, it's my aim to fix such mediocrity, one pack at a time. This is sort of like those ventures people make where they de-Vanillafy all those old Vanillas. Legend of Blue-Eyes, Metal Raiders, so forth. I, on the other hand, have made a daring choice to begin with...Crossroads of Chaos. It's the second of the "new series" - The Duelist Genesis was actually a reasonably well-constructed set, as these things go. Let's begin... Zauls
A lot of Healing Wave Generators, you may want to change that. Good idea though, I always hate seeing completely useless cards in packs. Can I be your co-pilot please? I always wanted to do something like this, and that way, we can get the job done really quickly!

That's the first time I've used the upload to Image Shack feature on the Card Maker, so, uh...what do you have against Healing Wave Generator, anyway? Anyway, sure you can be my...is co-pilot the right word? I've never collaborated with anyone before on any card projects, but I'm definitely open to it. I do have a lot of cards to get through... Dr. Cakey
I don't understand it properly, break it down please?Well, right now I have the whole Crossroads of Chaos booster pack, with cards listed from 001 to 099. Cards that are listed without a spoiler I haven't changed from their original form. The cards listed in spoiler tags have been changed in effects, Attribute, Type, or ATK/DEF. I prefer not to change the things other than the effects, when practical. Also, changed cards generally use their name from the OCG, rather than whatever they spew out for the TCG. Dr. Cakey
these are all REAL cards that work very well, your "corrections" are pointless. if i were a mod i would lock this in a heartbeatWhat Tier 3, no 4, or above deck uses any of the following?Healing Wave GeneratorMad ArchfiendWall of IvyMorphtronic MagnenMorphtronic DatatronMorphtronic CameranMorphtronic ClockenGadget HaulerSearch StrikerPursuit ChaserIron Chain SnakeIron Chain BlasterGoblin Decoy SquadComrade Swordsman of Landstar That's right. None. And those are just monsters. Do they work well? No. Let's take Healing Wave Generator, for example. It has two goals: to gain you Life Points, and to stick around for a while. Does it gain you Life Points? A little, I guess. Most of the time, Golden Ladybug would be more helpful for life gain. And does it stick around? Uh...no. 800 and 1600 are both bad. Then, if you Normal Summoned it, you gain what will usually be 400 Life Points, and take what I'd bet is 400-800 damage from its destruction in battle. If you could give me an example of a card I've changed that "works well" or how my changes are pointless, feel free to point them out. ADDENDUM: Some cards here have been changed in different ways. For example, generic Synchros no longer exist, for the most part. For example, Black Rose Dragon is: "1 DARK Tuner or "Debris Dragon" + 1 or more non-Tuner Plant-Type monsters", since it's a very powerful Synchro. On the other hand Deathkaiser Dragon is "1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuners" since it has no value in non-Zombie decks, and therefore doesn't require precise summon conditions. So, what do you disagree with?
zancrow the flame god
you want an example? ok. divine neos, he works just fine. black rose works just fine. neos wiseman works just fine. mad archfiend works just fine. Btw, who gives a crap about high Tier decks? i've seen plenty of amazing morphtron decks that run gadget hauler, magnen, datatron, cameran, and clocken and i've also seen plenty of amazing iron chain decks that run iron chain snake and blaster. and oh yeah great idea screwing up deathkaiser and making it so he doesn't use plaguespreader, did you ever once consider decks that use solidarity? no you did not. why? because it's not a "high tier" card, OH NOES!!!! But for all that, it has relatively low ATK and does very little to defend itself or give you any advantage. 11/10 card design, Konami. Black Rose Dragon is a generic Synchro with a kick-ass effect. That's the problem. Now it's a non-generic Synchro with a kick-ass effect. Neos Wiseman works fine. Neos WISEMAN works FINE? Are we talking about the same card here? This is the monster that is summoned from your hand by sending Neos and Yubel you control to the Graveyard, yes? The Effect Monster? The one that ISN'T a Fusion? Well, why not. It should be. It was a fusion in the anime. In fact, everything about it is copied from the anime. Who gives a crap about high-Tier decks? You'll notice that there are three deck tiers (with anything below that simply "un-tiered"), and I noted these cards would not be used in Tier 4+ decks? Yeah. Gadget Hauler...is probably the best out of the list. And to quote a certain mod, "...And that's terrible." What is that deck supposed to be, Morphtronic Burn? Iron Chains remind me of Harpies. Only worse. They can't decide between burn and mill, and don't do either well. I mean, WTF is with Blaster, anyway? Why does it say once per turn? Why does it only do 700 damage? Why are there so few Iron Chains? Deathkaiser Dragon...oh yes, that's right, "1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters" actually means "1 Tuner (except "Plaguespreader Zombie") + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters". No. Since Deathkaiser Dragon is not in any way OP'd, requiring it to use a Limited Tuner - especially when Zombies have no other Tuners - seemed pretty ridiculous to me. It's more easily summonable, and now pulls from either Graveyard. I seem to have missed the bit where I "screwed up". In short, I'm not doing at all what you think I'm doing. My goal with this is to put poorly designed cards up onto a level approaching that of what a TCG Forum frequenter might call "decent". In other words, I'm trying to make these cards do the jobs they were meant to do. PS: I want decklists for the Morphs and Iron Chains. These decks sound dreamy. Morphtronic Burn - the next Equipment Cat AvengerDAD.
