You start with brain they start with a monster. (1 card vs. 1) You end up with a monster they end up with nothing. (1 card vs. 0) It's +1.

Both players have 5 cards.

I use brain, I have 5, opponent has 4.

I sac/synchro monster, I have 4, opponent has 4.

In the end both players end up having 4 cards meaning the advantage is even.

The answer won't always be in the grave that's what you don't get. The strongest card is usually on the field controlled by the player in the best position for winning the game that's why Brain Control is so strong it has the power to steal that card.

I don't think I was ever debating Reborn being more/less broken then Brain. And there will almost always be something in the grave to help you.

Reborn is highly limited. Most powerhouse right now aren't legal target for monster reborn. Even though the potential is there you never get it. The meta would need to slow down for reborn to be able to have quality targets before the duel ends. Even in a perfect meta reborn will never be able to revive everything in your deck + everything in your opponent's deck and it won't always have to possibility to revive an answer to what your opponent has.

How is "any card in the grave" limited? Um......synchros. Your saying Reborn isn't broken, so I can only assume your talking about a good meta here things would be slower. A single monster will always be able to do a lot. Be it set up for a sac/synchro, beatstick, or even stop one more attack, it will always help. And yes, you might not always have a good target, but the same holds true for Brain. Your opponent won't always have a face-up, and you won't always be able to sac/tribute/push for game that turn.

First of all there is a huge risk of not having what you need in the grave. And most of the times you get little reward. The monster you revive will need some sort of protection, if not it will be dealt with the same way as it was before and will go back to the grave. You get a beatstick that's it, the only strong reward you can get are bannable mosters like stardust dragon. Reviving a BEWD just to trample something is weak.

So wouldn't that "huge risk" also apply to DAD? You won't always have the 3 Darks in the grave when you draw him. Most of the time you'll have to many making him a dead card. A easy beatstick is "little reward" since when? Um...how can your opponent deal with it the same way? Odds are what ever they killed it with is already in the grave and won't be seen again unless your opponent gets lucky enough to draw another copy. Their would be loads of good monsters left in a good meta, so I have no idea why you think all you'll have left are "simple beatsticks". And even a BEWD would be helpful since it can run over almost every other monster in the game and swing for more then a 1/3 your opponent's life points. If your opponent doesn't have an answer to that BEWD you just gained a massive amount of momentum.

Having Reborn at 1 makes me wish CoSR wasn't banned. Id have an orgy if I could rebuild my Zombie Swarm with Dark Hole in it.

CoSR would be an overkill load of +1's though. That would have been cool if they brought it back for teh lulz.

Did anybody even use CotH? I mean, that card was more balanced and chainable so when your opponent goes to SS, you go "KRISTYA" and lulz @ them. I really don't know how monster reborn is going to change the plays of this odd, odd format.

This card is just bad. I mean, most decks focus on remove from play, so it never has anything to work on.

Most? No.

The occasional deck has something that RFPs + most people Side or Main D.D. Crow? Much more accurate.

@Luna: I won't even entertain the idea.

i don't know why people complain that this is bad for the game if they are the ones actually using it and WINNING.
Same with brain control. Talk about complaining about cards you lost because of.

They use it and win BECAUSE it's broken and bad for the game. I'd think that would be obvious...
