Polls?

On the first page alone, I see but 1 topic with a Poll. This creates room for extra Spam ("Thanks blah blah adding your vote now"), and needless posting. I understand this is for fun, but at the very least. ALL Topic Creators and Voters are required to Make a Poll and Vote (respectively). Basically, if I dont see that [Poll] tag that says it IS a poll on the side of your topic, it will be locked on sight without viewing.

 

As I go around rewriting the Rules for Clarity and times this will become more clear. So speak up now before it's set in stone.

That's iffy. It's greatly advised and promoted, but this whole section is about good sportsmanships and people's opinion (Lol popularity ego stroke). So again, not required but heavily advised to do so.

most 1v1's i see have a prize of 2 or 3, I rarely see higher, so either members know the limit or just don't want to give more than 3

I find this rule could be faulty, as people could come or go just voting randomly in polls. We don't create polls, because we only count votes that have legitimate explanations, not just "Like the picture more than the other card" or some crap like that.

 

Just my two cents.

The Forum Rep Limit is 5 per day. You can give out a max of 3 Reps for prizes in 1v1s and a max of 6 (unless you talk to a mod first) Reps for prizes in Regular contests.

 

EDIT: I don't do polls for 1v1 because of the reason Catman gave.

No, and here's where my suggestions may be lacking, but so be it.

 

In my opinion, this forum has been running fine, but if you need to cut down on the spam, then try issuing warnings to people who continually spam. I know mods don't look at each individual threads, but if members see people who are spamming a lot, they can report it themselves.

 

All I'm saying is, with polls, nothing will really change. You're still going to get spam messages i.e. "I voted for so and so." and "Thanks for voting"

IMO, it's fine. Post count means nothing and points mean very little. By 'spamming' the threads that are only important to themselves, they aren't hurting anyone. Not really a problem in the first place.
