Superdoopertrooper
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Tribe-Infecting_Virus This card should not be banned. It is worse than lightning vortex which is at 3. Lightning vortex says: discard 1 card, destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls. Tribe says: discard 1 card and declare 1 type of monster. Destroy all face up monsters your opponent controls of the declared type. Tribe's effect is worse than lightning and you also have to waste your normal summon. Bad card is bad...... Engetsu
It's banned because it's effect can be reused over and over again. While Lightning Vortex can only be used once unless you run more than 1 in your Deck. Basically it's a reusable Lightning Vortex.
Superdoopertrooper
Yes, but it has pretty terrible stats, it isn't going to stay on the field for long. Plus you still have to discard each time you use the effect, so I dont see how it is that good.

Saturn of Elemia
IIRC, the original reason it got banned was due to some kind of infinite discarding loop with Night Assailant (which caused TIV to be banned and Night Assailant to be limited back in that format). This thing is a specific deck killer. It's also reusable. Lightning Vortex is a one-time shot (as Engetsuzan already mentioned). I LOVED using this card back when I dueled. I swear, I always drew it when I needed it the most. It's an easy monster nuker - and we've got enough destruction cards floating around. inb4stardust/starlightroad

Manjoume Thunder
Bad card. To 60.
its stats don't matter when your opponent doesn't even have monsters any more -__-
So you are an idiot, because: a) You think that a decent player will put all his monsters on the board and not win the game. You think that TIV hits the hand.
and if those cards are fableds or darkworlds?
Darkworlds don't work. Fableds work with so much other cards. Should we ban them, too? TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
Its broken. Its a non-once per turn walking lightning vortex that's easy to play. May it stay on the ban list at forbidden.

Lonk
I wonder if TIV can get passed Starlight Road....
evilfusion
Tribe only bypasses Starlight Road if it'll destroy only 1 of your opponents' monsters. Tribe is a 1600 that can, as often as you like/can, discard a card and nuke every monster on the field of a declared type. A lot of "type-decks" are unfairly annihilated by this card. Unlike Lightning Vortex, this stays around to cause more damage. LV is a Spell with a Discard cost. Tribe is a monster, meaning it can be reused and abused easily using revival effects, monster retrieval, and it doesn't disappear unless removed by your opponent, or if you declared "Aqua". The ability to be abused is what makes Tribe bannable. It can be triggered multiple times a turn, can wipe a whole field of monsters clean for little to no cost, has no restrictions aside from "only the type you declared" gets destroyed. Lightning Vortex, being a spell, will go to the graveyard after one use without giving you the field presence that Tribe will. It is a skill-less card that has nothing to contribute to the game and should not be unbanned.
