1 Synchro Tuner Monster + "Stardust Dragon"
You can activate each of the following effects once per turn: ● Reveal the top 5 cards of your Deck, then shuffle your Deck. During this turn's Battle Phase, this card can attack once for each Tuner Monster revealed this way. ● You can negate the activation of a Spell Card, Trap Card or Effect Monster's effect that would destroy a card(s) on the field, and destroy that card. ● When your opponent's monster declares an attack, you can remove from play this card to negate the attack. If this card is removed from play this way, Special Summon it during the End Phase.
Well basically, that effect is like Stardust Dragon only this card doesn't move away from the field. It didn't say on Stardust that you could only activate it once per turn becuase it doesn't need to since it would already be in the Graveyard due to it's own effect.

Yeah, Red Nova Dragon is way better than this. But you would run both this and Red Nova Dragon in your extra deck.

You could have Formula Synchron which is coming out in Starstrike Blast. It's easy to get out in Frog Synchro(the deck I'm making). Then you get Caius and Fishborg Blaster and a Treeborn Frog to get Stardustout.

Effect 1: Reveal 0 Tuners = 0 Attacks. Reveal 1 Tuner = 1 Attack. Reveal 2 Tuners = 2 Attacks. You need to have at least 2 Tuners revealed to gain any advantage to using the effect, and if you find 0, you cannot attack at all. I'm not sure how many Tuners are actually used in your average deck. Mine is usually at least 2, and even in my SD/AM deck I think I only have 4 or 5 (Three being Flamvell Magicians of course). I don't think a deck that stacks tuners would end up being very good.

Effect 2: It can only negate a Destruction Effect once, and then be destroyed by a 2nd destruction effect played that turn. Of course, it is still vulnerable to removal as well.

Effect 3: [s]Prevents it from being destroyed by Battle, in the off chance your opponent has a 3300 ATK or more monster to compete with this beast, or an effect like Catastor or Grand Mole. I don't think this effect would be used too often at all.[/s] Sorry, it can prevent any attack, not just ones directed at this monster, which is better, though not enough for me to justify its use :x

To me, it's seriously not worth the effort to Summon, and i'd much rather continue to use Stardust Dragon and Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode over this.

Flamvells can whip this out with ease. Rekindling is going to make Scar Red and Shooting Star hilariously easy to summon, especially with Baby released.

As for Shooting Star, it's a gamble to use its multiple attacks effect because, as mentioned, you reveal 0 tuners, you get nothing. You reveal 1, you get 1. OR you could not take the gamble and just attack once.

The costless negation once per turn is pretty sweet, but as mentioned, it's only once a turn, making this vulnerable.

Lastly, it can negate ANY attack, not just one aimed at this. It can negate a direct attack or an attack against a weaker monster, maybe one you're trying to defend for some reason? And then it comes back.

It's decent, but it's true: Scar Red is better because an easy beatstick 4000+ monster immune to destruction is superior to a 3300 that MIGHT be able to attack up to 5 times...or not at all.

The difference is Shooting Star needs the Tuners on the top of your deck, and Scar Red needs them in your graveyard. And odds are, you've used 3 in the summoning (1 for Red Dragon, 2 for Nova), so that's 5000 off the bat.

Well, you just need a little NEXUS!

and you'll always nab 5 tuners

Only in the anime. Main Characters always stack their cards to get exactly what they need at any time.
