Polar God Monarch Loki

We really didn't need a Lv10 Synchro with the Quickdraw Toolbox and Flamvell Toolbox spamming big powerhouses already. I think it's funny that YCM disregarded the fact that Polar God cards are still God cards, thus, they enjoy drawbacks to slow the summoning process.

I let a friend proxy the anime versions of the Polar Gods and then faced them. Level 10 generic Synchros are broken as hell, screw the 2 non-tuners bit. You find the right deck to run them and they are broken.

The original Polar gods are level 10 generic Synchros that freaking self-revive and then do something else. Thor deals 800, Loki retrieves a trap, and Odin draws. Plus they have their own effect. Thor negates and steals effects a la Majestic Star Dragon, Loki negates and destroys an S/T when it attacks, and Odin gives the Polar Gods IMMUNITY to S/Ts. Yeah...

These versions aren't generic, but force you to run the Polar Star/Beast/Star Spirit cards. That sounds fine to me, depending on the support they get and how good they are. Also, they're not costless self-revivers. Loki sucks compared to the anime version, but I wouldn't run Loki anyway. Thor and Odin are more powerful and probably better anyway.

Okay, so Thor only has effect negation, not effect theft. That's fine, effect theft is a ruling nightmare anyway. And it has a requirement for revival, also fine.

So the Polar Gods have more restrictive summoning conditions than the anime and have a cost for revival. Do you know what it would have been like if they had been generic with costless self-revival? Sure, removal effects and bounce would make a comeback, but those cards were just too powerful to stay generic with costless self-revival + perk.
