Future Fusion and its Friend.

Recommended Posts

Future Fusion Gives you a Beatstick, Everybody knows that, But you might not know its friend......

I was watching YGOTAS, and Ishizu used this:

ExchangeoftheSpiritRP01-EN-ScR-UE.jpg

[spoiler=FF]

FutureFusionGLD2-EN-GUR-LE.jpg

Effect:

Send, from your Deck to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card, and select that 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. Special Summon a Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck with the same name as the selected Fusion Monster during your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) When this card is removed from the field, destroy the monster. When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.

What if it was Un-Banned?

Discuss if Konami should Ban FF, and un ban this, or Un limit FF and keep this banned.

Future Fusion isn't even the reason this card is banned. If anything, the discussion should be about which deserves to be banned: Exchange of the Spirit or Makyura/Cathedral. Makyura and Cathedral are why Exchange of the Spirit is banned: you could activate all sorts of +0 drawing trap cards and then activate Exchange of the Spirit, leaving your opponent with no deck. When they try to draw next turn, they lose.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with Cathedral and Makyura the Destructor as long as all bannable traps (including EotS and CotH) and Exodia are banned, which they usually all are on a good 3-0 theory ban list.

But since Future Fusion is in the topic title, I suppose that's what should be discussed, right?

Well, I want to make a hypothetical situation. Let's say Future Fusion were edited (or this is banned and a new Future Fusion-like card is made) so that you could only select a monster that can be summoned with only two Fusion Material monsters and you can only ditch two Fusion Material, and that E•Hero Absolute Zero and Chimeratech Overdragon were banned (they're banworthy anyway).

Does this make Future Fusion balanced?

My personal opinion is that, if all the banworthy Fusions are removed and not too many generic Fusions are made, it's fine.

However, if all (good) Fusion Monsters were relatively generic (Ex: Explosive Beast Vulcannon), I think even the edited version would be banworthy.

Then again, this is just my opinion, and I'm not exactly experienced with 3-0 logic, so I'm probably at least half-wrong.

If you really think Future Fusion is the reason Exchange of Spirit is banned, that's pretty damn laughable.

Being stupid is against the rules though. *locked*
