Gigavolt Dragon

Just another card I made out of boredom.

I figured since Thunder Types don't have much support, I thought I make a card that would help them out.

It's probably Op'ed, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

Also feel free to suggest changes to this card. I would like this card to be both balanced and useful.

EDIT: Card's effect was Op'ed, so I changed it to make it more balanced (hopefully). Also lowered it's ATK in attempt to prevent it from being a cheap beatstick.

EDIT 2: Changed card's summoning requirement to make it more difficult to summon.

Card Lore

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by having exactly 3 Thunder-Type monsters in your Graveyard. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower Thunder-Type monster from your hand. This card cannot attack the turn you activated this effect. If this card would be destroyed, you can remove from play 1 other Thunder-Type monster you control instead. You can only control 1 "Gigavolt Dragon"

It is far too easy to Summon. You just need to get a Thunder-Type monster in your Graveyard and then you can Summon this card by removing the card in your Graveyard, 1 Thunder monster in your Deck and 1 from your hand from play. That's not hard to do with a Thunder based Deck. The Special Summoning a Thunder-Type monster effect is OP'd already if you limit it to Lv 3-4 and under monsters but since it doesn't have a Level limit, that makes it even more OP'd. With this effect, you could Special Summon a card like this in 1 turn with no Trbutes:

So, I believe this card is fairly broken. But everything else is okay. But it's just too OP'd IMO. 7.1/10

Renji you stole my thunder (no pun intended). Anyway Renji's right, it is just too easy to summon with that kind of power. Perhaps lower the ATK to 2200-2400 range and set a limit on the Special Summoning from the deck. Other than that this is a useful card that I would play if I ran a Thunder deck.

I already made the changes before your post FTW lol.

It still might be too easy to get out though..

lol, its almost the same as redmd, but more op with its easier summoning conditions, revival effect, and ss from deck. actually the ss from deck part just broke this card : /
I guess I should take out the SS from the Deck then? Or the revival effect?

I would like to keep one of the two, but if both of their effects are just too much, then I'll edit them out.

I hate when that happens >_> anyway make it 3 and change Thunder-Type to Thunder-type and everything's good IMO.

Type is supposed to be capitalized. At least how I seen it from other Yu-Gi-Oh cards anyway.

And will do. I'll make another change asap.

Sometimes I hate growing up with the old OCG, it makes me look retarded when I say something like this. Yeah, you're right, I just checked to make sure. I knew they did it with Synchro and Fusion requirements but I didn't know that the trend also spread to the effect. Oh well.

Edit: New card looks good and I don't see any problems, it fits well with the whole high level low attack dynamic of watt monsters.

its weird how the only 2 thunder archetypes batteryman and watt, are both low level and focused on otk and lockdown, so its kinda hard to make this balanced
I see. Well take another look at the card. Is it balanced now? Or still rather broken?

If still broken, then I'm ashamed that I made such a Op'ed and broken card lol.

I feel retarded for making such a Op'ed/broken card in the first place XD

I really like this well now it has been fixed because from the comments it seemed to be very O'Ped.
That aside you are right there isn't much to help Thunders, aparts from the 'watt' cards and who could forget the 'batterymen' OTK. I don't know of many people who use these though so yeah it is nice to see a support for them.

Effect: Nice.
OCG: Perfect, I think.
Balance: Good. I didn't see the first version, so I can't compare, but it looks like it'd work now.

Overall nice work, 9/10. It feels like it's missing something though... >.<

I'll be honest, I dont quite see how this is "overpowered".
It has the same bogus condition that DAD has, yet, Thunder-Types are A LOT slower then DARKs.
Its ATK is the same as a Monarch, so most boss monsters and/or other commonly used cards can beat it without any real problem, seeing as how you pretty much -1 yourself in order to keep it alive. And being limited to only 1 per field is kinda' random. Though its a nice swarming monster.

In MY opinion, its balanced. Slightly underpowered, but balanced.

It's effect was this before.

"This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing 1 Thunder-Type monster from your hand, Deck and Graveyard from play. Something like that. I don't remember. It also had 2800 ATK before I changed it.

I don't like it's current summoning condition, but the last one made it a bit too easy to get out, so I gave it a more strict summoning condition. I was thinking of changing the summoning condition to removing from play 2 Thunder monsters you control instead, but I'm not sure about it.

and I know the limitation part of it's effect was random, but I was trying to balance it out is all >_<
