Spoon
When a man's consciousness is fading away he will find without fail that he comes face to face with his own soul and must challenge it. It is the one moment that we are able to look directly upon our naked selves. I have no longer any doubt in my mind that for me that time has now come. Don't you all understand? You're nothing more than fictional characters that I created in my mind! When I am defeated in this battle a truth will be born in this world. And a fleeting dream will transform slowly filling with color. And only when this ordeal is finally overcome, will my soul at last be allowed to leave my physical body. Then let us test it! Whether I...no. Whether my spirit can become a lance, capable of piercing through every one of you! We'll see if I am truly such a weak human being! Frédéric Francois Chopin, Eternal Sonata There are things in life you don't forget. Though I can't say I can recall those words at any time, I can truly remember the feeling I had when I first played the game up until this point. Those who did it themselves may know what I'm talking about. This card is, of course, not about the famous Polish composer Chopin (while it's arguably the same character...), but about the video game character Frédéric, who finds himself in a world created by his own dreams. For a long time I tried to do this character justice, without much of a success. But I think this try is pretty good and comes as close as it gets without making it a Vanilla... tell me what you think Lore: When this card is Summoned, place 5 Light Counters and 5 Shadow Counters on it. If this card would be destroyed by a card effect, you can remove 1 Light Counter and 1 Shadow Counter from it instead. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Light Counter from this card to gain 1200 Life Points OR remove 1 Shadow Counter to destroy 1 DARK monster your opponent controls. If there are no Light Counters and no Shadow Counters on this card, place 2 Dream Counter on it and it gains the following effect: Each time you gain Life Points or a monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, place 1 Dream Counters on this card (max. 10). Once per turn, you can remove 3 Dream Counters from this card to add 1 Spell Card from your Deck to your hand OR return 1 Spell Card from your Graveyard to your hand. Each time a Spell Card is activated, remove 1 Dream Counter from this card. If there are no OR 10 Dream Counters on this card, remove it from play and destroy all cards on the field. When this card was removed from play by it's own effect, neither player can activate Spell Cards as long as it remains removed from play. During your 3rd Standby Phase, while this card is removed from play by it's own effect, send it to the Graveyard. Btw.: If anybody happens to have a picture that really fits the character and the mood the character shows in this particular scene, I'd gladly take it.
