That is not a theme. Spellcasters is not a theme. Sure it can be a Deck, but not a theme.

Chaos Spellcasters is a theme. It uses LIGHT / DARK Spellcasters and Chaos Sorcerer.
Chaos Village is a theme. It uses the above with Secret Village of the Spellcasters.
Spell Counters is a theme (I think). It's based off the manipulation of Spell Counters.

Spellcasters however, is not a theme. Unless they have some sort of resemblance in their effects, (Swarming, Burning, etc.) just having Spellcasters put into a Deck doesn't make it a theme or a good Deck.

Themes do matter when it comes to Deck Building and Dueling. You will never see a Deck of 40-60 random cards that may have the slightest resemblance (whether it's their Type, Attribute, or whatever) win at your Locals and such. A Deck with no Theme has no chance against a Deck with a Theme.

Your Deck is bad. It may be hard for you to believe, but it is. Their is no (good) strategy to it, no win condition, and so on. If you don't believe, just wait until tomorrow when Pacman beats you in less than 20 Turns or so. Depending on the Deck he is using that is.

Just because most of your monsters are Spellcasters doesn't mean it's a good Deck.

Something tells me this was originally just a piled of cards you had laying around until you found some of the smallest things the monsters had in common, then mushed them all up to make this creation of yours.

Dueling on a thread will take way to long. Same thing goes with PM's. I also do not have the time because I have a lot of schoolwork to attend to. The earliest we can duel and prove your Deck is downright terrible is around Friday using YVD, or in a chatroom I can give a link too when we do duel. I will still think of the Deck as a pile of random cards whether I win or lose (which will be highly unlikely). In fact, even if you were to stack I could assure you I would still win. I'll even duel you with my own Chaos Spellcasters.

Anywho...the 'Your Deck' Forum will give suggestions on what to take out and put into a Deck. If you are on a low budget, you will most likely get a lot of card suggestions of cards you will not have. We give suggestions for what's best for the Deck. 90% of the time we don't give a s*** if you don't have a certain card, or if that card is too expensive, etc. (Unless that card is pricey as hell or for certain reasons that are agreeable. Examples would be Pot of Duality, Solemn Warning, etc.)

Now now, no need to rage in red and all. Look, if you want to work on a Spellcaster / Spell Counter Deck, try to find either 3 [b]Spellcaster's Judgment[/b] and/or 3 [b]Spellcaster's Command[/b] Structure Deck. You should make a Decent, yet fun Deck using the cards given in those. But I can't guarantee they'll win your Locals and such.

However, if you want something more fun yet competitive to use, buy 3 [b]Machina Mayhem[/b] Structure Decks. You can make a simple, fun and competitive Machina Gadget Deck out of the cards given by buying 3 of these.

And just for the record, you're not a 'little behind' if you haven't been in this game for 4 years, your really far behind.

...If your trying to save money for a baby, it's pretty obvious something like that comes before card games. If your not into the current new cards, I can assure you dueling and trying to win will be fairly hard for you, so I suggest looking into them.

Machina Gadgets aren't that pricey. The price for 1 Structure Deck is 12-14 Dollars, so in all, your spending 36-42 Dollars for a fun competitive Deck. But like I said, family before card games. /obivous

Just try to find a shop that sells cards from certain card Games (Yugioh, MtG, Pokemon), and see if they have any Machina Mayhem Structure Decks in stock. At most you'll be spending 50 Dollars altogether for buying 3 of them, and maybe 35 at the lowest, but in all, you get a fun Deck afterwards. You still might need a few other cards that do not come in the Structure Decks that will be considered staples in the Deck or all around though.

hmmm... well If your anybody like me, you probably dislike the term "theme". it makes it sound too scripted and a lot less original. Theme is a very general term, so to say that your deck has a spellcaster theme is not wrong. however, the problem with this deck is not that you don't have a theme, but that you have no synergy. your win condition is not well defined, therefore making the goal of the deck is to combine spellcasters together and use their various abilities. though this may make sense to you, This sort of strategy is too slow, where all your cards are trying to do separate things. The reason why this is bad is because of this:
In order to use Polymerization, you need Relinquished and Thousand Eye Idol. There is a 1/40 chance of drawing Poly, a 2/40 chance of drawing Relinquished, and 1/40 for Idol. to Have all three at any given time would be (1/40)X(2/40)X(1/40), or a 1/32000 chance of having all 3 at any given time. already your chances of pulling that off are slim, but look at the rest of your deck! to use Trade-In, you need Metal Armored Bug. There is a 1/40X1/40=1/1600 chance of drawing this combo. The end result of this is a simple draw of 2 cards. because of the slim chance, you will most likely have both Trade-In and Metal Armored Bug as dead draws. The list goes on about the inconsistency of certain combos. Of course you will eventually be able to do something, but not everything you are thinking of. this sets you off a card disadvantage because most of your cards are locked away due to the inability to get what you need to use them.

Now Thousand Eye Restrict and Trade In are not impossible to play cards. by running more copies of a certain card, you are sure to draw it more often. also, there are card searchers. a well dedicated deck to Thousand Eye may contain 12 searchers/subs (cards that will technically count as it. lets assume you have 4 for Relinquished, 4 for Idol, and 4 for poly) so not only are you running x3 of the main ingredients, giving a 3/40X3/40X3/40= 1/7111 chance of being able to summon Restrict, but your other support will probably make the odds more like 7/40 7/40 7/40= 1/186 chance of having everything you need. and draw power will further your chances by decreasing the size of your deck and allowing you to draw what you need more often.

To skip all this: Pick a Strategy and a win condition (a specific one, like how you will attack directly, how will you clear your opponents field to do so, etc.) and try to make it as quick as possible (by running multiple copies of the needed cards and support,involve special summoning, draw power/deck milling, and searching). Putting the deck at 40 cards will help you draw what you need more rather than 44.

Target, Wallmart, and many other major chains sell this structure deck. also, it's fine if you what you want is a spellcaster deck with all your favorites, but seeing as the purpose of Your Deck is to improve upon decks, it might not be a good idea to post it here if you don't want it to be changed.

I'm not worried about changing it and target, walmart and all the big chains dont have the old school cards I feel in love with I liked yugioh when it was fusions and shadowrealm duels not the dark signners and Synchros. I just cant follow half the rules anymore or any of that I usally play trdtional duels on top of everything else.


I undestand all of this but the fact is that i dont have any more copies of any of these cards or any of the other things you pointed out If I did Id love It. and the 44-40 thing I just like have the 44 cards cause it kinda sets me apart and puts me at that slit disadvantage, but with this deck i no what you mean. it does kinda suck the way it is but i have nothing to fix it with realy tommorrow Ill post all my spellcasters, fiends, spells, and traps and may be you guys can help me out some with what I have.

what do you play the game for exactly? locals or just playing with friends? if it is the latter, I am sure friends will be fine with a proxy deck.

Well if you play online, then you can just use YVD. It gets updated every time new cards come out, and you can save them on your computer. Saves money and still lets you have the fun of a regular duel.
