123hriwu3beofuf89383y
I found this on Lolwikia: ''An Infinite Loop is a never-ending cycle of cards trying to resolve. This is wrong because you need a time machine, go to the past, kill your 10minute past-self, then you will have an infinite loop. or a paradox. Paradox is my Sciency. Because of this, a ruling was introduced that states you may not activate a card knowing that it will cause an Infinite Loop with No Net Change. ''Net Change is when a Loop is activated that has a change occur for certain. After the Loop is active it will continue until it stops producing a change and then the card causing it will be destroyed by Game Mechanics. When the Loop is controlled by a player, the Loop can be stopped at any time by that player. As such, a Controlled Loop is legal for use.'' Heres a Example From Wikia: An example of a "Controlled Loop": The Quillbolt Loop. This uses "Quillbolt Hedgehog's" ability to Special Summon itself by having a Tuner on the field and follows by having a "tribute for damage" card on the field. Using "Imperial Iron Wall" prevents "Quillbolt Hedgehog" from being removed from play. Rinse and Repeat. Another example: The Flint Equip Loop. This uses "Flint" and two "Flint Locks" to pass the "Flint" back and forth. The Spell Card "Morale Boost" is used to gain 1000 Life Points every time an Equip Card is equipped. Because no Equip card leaves the field, the 1000 Life Point loss is never reached. This allows a player to gain infinite Life Points while the opponent may be powerless to stop it. Combined with Fire Princess, this creates an OTK. So, i played a loop once, it had something to do with Magical Bookshelf and spell counters. or something. Discuss Infinite loops, Net Change Loops, and controled Loops.
RAEGING D0GKING
Loops are stupid. Go play with yourself instead.
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
These are not infinite loops, just very long ones. True infinite loops are prevented due to a universal ruling that if an infinite loop occurs, one must replay the move to prevent the infinite loop. evilfusion
Controlled loops are how FTKs can be consistent. Hence, bad for the game. Butterfly Dagger was banned because of being the main cog in one such loop. Infinite loops are very rare, and aside from Pole Position, I'm not sure how many there are. Net change does not warrant discussion.

Canadian
The best example of a loop card is butterfly dagger - elma. That thing was hilarious.
M.B X
Your forgetting Night Assailant Ruling: *You cannot select the "Night Assailant" that was itself sent to the Graveyard, so there is no infinite loop.
