Primetimepokemon (a youtuber) has a few thousand subscribers from just opening packs and trading cards. I remember in one of his videos he was attempting to break a record because he had a whole table filled with tins and packs. I suppose people are interested but that's Pokémon. Do Yu-Gi-Oh players card about unboxing videos? You could say people who do it want to show off but then again it can be a visual tool to determine what cards are in sets and if lots are opened at the same time help show the likely hood of getting cards because opening packs is a bit like gambling: you never know what you'll get. I'm curious because I'm getting the Blackfeather Dragon tin and another Yusei tin in a couple days time a long with a box of Hidden Arsenal packs so I was wondering what people think about these sorts of videos. And since I currently do not trade cards over the internet it's not going to affect anyone. But perhaps I should do that. Though I may use it so people at my local know what else I have since my folder is only going to contain the very best cards and people might want some commons that would not normally be in my folder. I occasionally watch videos of decks in action (Flip Trolls lol) and "How to use" guides to decks but other than that I don't watch much at all.
