-Griffin
|Hivemind| |Insect/WIND/Fusion|Level 1| |0 ATK/0 DEF| |2 Insect-Type monsters you control + 1 monster your opponent controls| |To Fusion Summon this monster, tribute the above Fusion Material monsters and send them to the Graveyard. Once per turn, you can remove the top 5 cards of your opponent's Deck from play to prevent this card from being destroyed as a result of battle. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this card.| The last effect was a nice little add-in to make it less vulnerable so it doesn't feel like you get nothing and it's more likely to actually survive a turn, also mild bolster to Insect-mill. The 'tribute and send them to the Graveyard' was to stop it working with tokens and Level Eater, which I felt could be abusive. It's not meant to be impressive once on the field, it's mostly there because it means that if Insects ever have 2 monsters on the field, they have monster removal, while also being usable as synchro material for Jet-Black Zumwalt. Thoughts: 1) I don't like the effect much, I'm more partial to the Fusion Material since that's the main point. Suggestions for a more interesting effect are more than welcome. 2) If it were level 3, it might be more use to Synch Unground Arachne, and for pure-Insect-Decks, 2 or 4 would be better since that works with Infernity Beetle. Suggestions on level change are welcome. 3) There aren't actually many Insect-Tokens, maybe I should let them be used so that Spider Eggs sees more use? 4) There aren't [s]many[/s] any good Level 5/6 Insects this'd be tributed for. Could it see play in some sorta Insect-Monarchs? Help'd be loved. Link to comment
Icy
I love this xD, at least how you can use it. Perfect for the feel of Insects and how they work together. I really don't know what to say, except amazing at how you made it really FEEL like an insect hivemind. Link to comment
CrabHelmet
I think it's fine as it is. Remember that it can be used at will (without the need for Tuners or a specific card or anything of that sort) and is never a dead draw, and is available as long as your Insects are doing what Insects are supposed to do (swarming). The free extra option it gives anything involving Insects is plenty; it doesn't need more bonuses. Not to mention that if you and your opponent each control several monsters, one of these can be used as one of the Fusion Material Monsters for another of these... Link to comment
