Prisma Gladiators

Max Darkness

Recommended Posts

I've modified an old, rather successful Deck of my own with some cards I've recently got hold of. The thought is to make it more aggressive and also cover some of the risks linked with constantly attacking. However, I am aware I'm probably rusty so I'm not sure whether I've succeeded in this aim or not...

Comments please.

Why not? A relatively high-ATK source of piercing damage for most of my other monsters.

Gladiator Beast Laquari x 3

too many

Possibly, but I chose a third over a "Dimicari" or "Samnite" due to the need for relatively high ATK.

Why not? "Magic Hole Golem" is a decent enough one-turn wall and also allows the Deck to restart its momentum if "Gyazrus" or "Heraklinos" are struck down. "Rhinotaurus" works well with the swarming capabilities of the archetype and their need to constantly attack. Once they've cleared the field, it can get in 3600 damage in a pair of attacks, or destroy more monsters. As for "Winged Rhynos", it's there because of its 1800 ATK and ability to escape "Mirror Force" and the like.

What's your logic? Most of the above are semi-staples or staples for the "Gladiator Beasts". Two "Double Summons" might be one too many, but it allows rapid summoning of the fusion materials or getting an early advantage. "Archfiend Shield" protects my monsters from any attack traps or "Lightning Vortex". "Gold Sarcophagus" searches for "Gladiator Proving Ground" while "Lightning Vortex" can clear the way if my opponent's managed to amass a number of monsters.

"Shield Crush" does the opposite, blowing away a Defense monster without activating Flip Effects and leaving it clear for an attack. "Call of the Haunted" is a staple, and fulfills "Gyzarus'" activation conditions. "CED" is both destruction protection and a way of returning a troublesome monster. "Dark Bribe" is a negation staple. "Divine Wrath" is needed in case I don't control a "Gladiator Beast" (the same reason I use "Waboku" over "Defensive Tactics"). "Double Tag Team" is an easy way of increasing field presence or getting "Bestiari" onto the field to fuse. "Waboku" is again, incredibly useful in this deck.

I don't see where you're coming from. If I were to remove what you've listed, this deck would be vulnerable to a large number of Traps, would slow down considerably and would be destroyed the moment my opponent summoned a strong monster or cleared my field.

the reason the monsters that aren't gladiator beasts (bar prisma/tiger) are bad are because nearly 90% of the time, summoning a glad is so much better. this gives you access to war chariot, and access to your toolbox of glads. not to mention the other monsters you used are pretty meh.

instead of running bad cards that you think are staples you should run actual good staples.

like 3 book of moon, which is amazing in this deck.
you need more chariots
you need solemn warning (you can run ced over it if you want)
you need a second bottomless
dimensional prison is always good
another prisma
get two more test tigers

you only need 7-8 spells

cold wave
dark hole
monster reborn
3 book of moon
maybe 1 proving ground

that's all you need

dimensional prison is great in this deck by the way, it's more useful than waboku/defense tactics because it actually does something

torrential/mirror force/dark hole/etc are better methods to clear the field than lightning vortex

trap stun/seven tools > dark bribe

double summon is a bad -1 and you won't always need to play it

call of the haunted is too slow in this deck, and isn't always needed

gold sarco is once again to slow, and not needed

for the third time, double tag team isn't needed

the deck isn't 100% relied on gogo gyzarus plays. you control your opponent as well.

archfiend shield is prone to mst and there are better options.

a good gb s/t lineup looks something like this

3 book
1 cold wave
1 dark hole
1 reborn

3 dimensional prison
3 war chariot
2 warning/ced
1 solemn
1 torrential
2 bottomless
1 mirror force
2 trap stun/seven tools

with this lineup you are given consistent and better options to shut down your opponent's strong monsters, and methods to protect spells and traps. the reason most of your choices are bad is because some of them are too specific to be used efficiently and there are better options than some of the cards that you listed.

i've played gbs for a format and a half. i would know.
