State Testing

Well my bf got a 36 when he took his so eh, now you see why I'm studying so much. The state testing in my sophomore year was just plain stupid. I remember their being a question like.
"15x (3.25 x radius of 2) + 24x =?
and the following answers I could've selected was A. 15 B. 11 C. 17 D. 19
It was an effing inverse operations problem and I was wondering where the hell is 13? All of the algebra section was like that.

WAIT, HOLD UP.

State Testing =/= Standardized Testing

Rather, state testing is a subset of standardized testing.

The SAT and ACT are national standardized tests. State tests would be pertaining to your state alone, and probably have the initials of your state in them. For example, the CAST (or CST) is a standardized STATE test. :/

Never took the ACTs. Only ever took the SATs, twice.

I did okay. 1850 my first time. 1870 my second time. I was always annoyed Standardized Tests were always early in the morning. I'd like to see the SATs at noon or something.

The answer could be any number in the world.

Please tell me you got an 800 in Math. =D

I'm actually unsure about what the question is asking. I feel the answer should be 39x, but then she started talking about radii and whatnot... what exactly is the question? :/

3.25 with radius 2 means double the radius and you get 4 as a diameter. 4 x 3.25 is 13. the like terms become 39.
39x 13= 3

15x (3.25 x radius of 2) + 24x =?

Your explanation made no sense.

The question is asking 15x + 24x = ?, which is 39x, or at least that is how I am reading it.

The "3.25x radius of 2", I'm assuming, means you take the diameter (which is 4) and multiply it by the 3.25x, getting you 13x,

Now you are saying that 39x / 13x = 3 (x =/= 0), but why did you divide the 39x by 13x?

Moreover, what the hell is this?

Right, but it doesn't make any sense. Can you least explain what the question is asking? Or rather, anything logical about the question? <___<

I took the SAT and ACT once a piece, i'm good at test taking and pretty smart, so I got 2270 and 33 respectively.

SAT IIs are retarded. You can get an 800 on the math 2, and you'll still only be 88th percentile. They make no effort to have the test fit a bell curve.
