Veganism

Nothing beats a Delicious Bacon Sandwich with Tomato Ketchup. Being a Vegetarian is always too much trouble for me (Believe me I tried it once) Meat contains a lot of Iron that is great for your Blood and is almost instant. Iron Suppliments takes a little longer to work and can be more expensive in the long run.

Oh and I laugh at anyone who orders a Vegetarian Burger from a Fast Food resturant. 9/10 times the Vege Burger has been cooked in Oil used to Cook Animal Products.

Veganism, with the minimal influence it has on the world so far, doesn't really pose a force against the way people eat food. Some people will continue to eat whatever they want regardless if people say it's bad for them. When Vegans start to take over school boards and reverting the school menus, or taking down fast food restaurants, it may worry me.

diet is something stupid.

Fine, if you don't have anything smart to say about the topic, then don't say it at all.

What about people who are obese, wanna lose weight, but cant get excercise just yet? They use a diet until they have lost enough weight to be able to excercise...

Well for me there's diet and diet... The one to lose weight and cut down on fats or whatever, and the one which is simply because you're convinced you're better off with that lifestyle (hope it doesn't sound too confusing...), for ethical, religious reasons or whatever. It's the same word in most languages so some people even go so far and assume that being a vegetarian means eating salad and a piece of tomato all day. But it's not, a pizza 4 fromages is vegetarian and deliciously fatty.=3 <3
But I'd say it's half-true that you can lose weight and become healthier by becoming a vegan (I prefer to keep the topic on this), there are some people who make it work, assuming they follow a healthy kind of diet, and others who don't lose a kg because they continue eating sweets and unhealthy stuff. It's so-so, I guess.
But yeah, many nutritional studies and doctors have shown that a healthy kind of vegan diet can help losing weight and I believe it. Ditch cow milk for soy milk and you have a much better alternative.

Well, without the fats and other animal byproducts won't exactly be detrimental to your health, obviously, but it won't cause many bad effects. Honestly, I know three strict vegans and their perfectly fine, except for being abnormally thin compared to the rest of the country.

I believe that it works perfectly for some and that they're probably happy about their choices. Just out of curiosity though, are the 3 girls? Because that's my point really, that for most girls it may be harder to make a vegan diet work because of the iron stuff. Not saying that it never works for a girl, but I know a few vegans in my surroundings who have lived with it perfectly fine until now and they're all men.D:

I agree with that, meat can't really be beaten in terms of iron. Sure, soy products and lends (?) have been proven to have even more iron and vitamins than red meat, but the main problem is that they don't really get absorbed by the body. So most vegans end up with compliments anyway, especially women. It's really a 50/50 situation for me, meat is healthy because of the iron and proteins, but unhealthy because of the fat (and if you eat non-organic meat, all the antibiotics and chemical stuff they pump into the bodies). I wish there was something that covers both and that doesn't get flushed down the toilet.:'(

I admit, I do eat veggie burgers from McDonald's, the only fast food restaurant around here other than Pizza Hut (yeah we don't have just that) and I eat them because I think they taste good. That there's probably some kind of animal composant in them though, I'm pretty sure the cheese isn't made with vegetal or chemical rennet, but animal one.
Also, cooking in animal oil or using animal broth is not vegan and not even vegetarian because a living being had to be killed. But then again that's just a matter of definition, a lot of vegetarians probably don't care so much about the cheese rennet and whether the broth is 100% vegetal, especially if they're mostly into it because they don't like the taste of meat. Then again, some really picky veges will insist that not caring about rennet and broth is horribly wrong and puts you out of the group.

I'm not really sure about that though, just look at PETA or the Animal Equality protests in the UK: http://www.animalequality.net/
It's not that they just protest in front of a meat restaurant, but their goal is to completely abolish the eating of ANY animal products and turn everyone vegan. It's written in their mission statement, not kidding.
That's the kind of people I tend to have issues with, there are plenty of vegetarians, vegans and others who live their life how they think it's good but won't try to force it upon others, and then there are those who are really militant (vegangelicals).
Sometimes I'm asking myself if eating matters aren't like religious matters in that sense, go ahead and live how you want, as long as it doesn't harm other people and don't try to force it down others' throats, which would be a pretty good attitude in my eyes and which is what most people have started to do. But some people...well...

Two girls, one guy. They eat high-iron vegetables around their menstrual cycles so they don't get all sick and iron-deprived.
