Βyakuya
*salutes* My "arch nemesis" friend says he doesn't care about the veterans or the military. Too bad. Wait, are we really talking about Veteran's Day?
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Glad a thread got started on this. Went to work today. Only me and the gym receptionist were wearing our poppies. Was quite rubbish. Bless the people who fought for our countries.
Cin
I make sure I always get a poppy, give £1 each time. Got annoyed that my sister seemed to be being noisy upstairs, 2nd year in a row, she has work for Sunday's 1 minute silence.
Amethyst Phoenix
Veteran's day is on this date because today is Armistice Day 1918. That's the end of the fighting in WWI. [/funfact]
NeoDemonX
Yes remember that Canada saved your asses and for Canada we remember our soldiers but its funny that both of our leaders that are not in their countries.
Dark
I personally do not respect soliders (not respecting is not the same as disrespecting) who chose to join the army, but I feel quite a lot of sympathy and genuine respect for those drafted into the army. Were we supposed to have a moment of silence today? If so, my school totally forgot.
Clair
My school forgot about the moment of silence deal... until they hurriedly announced that we were having it at the end of last period. Of course by then, nobody would shut up to spare a minute.
Smesh
Inb4americasucks I myself am anti-war, but if one of my friends wants to join the military, I won't stop them. I respect those who have given their lives for us, I just don't respect the war and some actions taken during it. EDIT: Our school did have a moment of silence, and since there's an Air Force Base nearby us, we had a veteran come speak.

I found it very emotional, but it kept getting stuck in my head. ~RIP to All the Soldiers Who Died Fighting For Our Freedom~ Heres the URL if the video above didn't work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYlrrAWCTRg
EliminateHRN
Kinda late, but whatever. I'm anti-war, but I currently have a relative over in Afghanistan, so I respect anyone who fights for our freedom. Also, we didn't have a moment of silence, it seemed like no one remembered.
Wow, really??? You have a relative in afghanistan??? So does that mean your relative's fighting in the war??? I wouldn't want ANYONE I know to fight in afghanistan because I'm way too afraid they'll die!!!!!!
