yeah the tracks i remember you digging were the stuff that i posted of Sybreed, The Ocean, Make Them Suffer, He Is Legend, MyGrain and i think Dead Poetic too, all are great bands, have you ever tried out any of the full albums of the bands you got into? personally i like to listen to full albums more than just individual songs

Yea, we often post things that aren't necessarily super loud and heavy, but hardcore has a lot of variety with varying sounds that we enjoy a lot. That being said, there's definitely a lot of hardcore and metal that we like that's loud as hell. For instance...

thats cool usually when theres tracks that i dont like i just skip them or delete them if they bother me that much. Dir En Grey are really good and have a lot of diversity, you should probably give their entire discography a listen sometime its well worth it though Uroboros and Arche are probably the best starting albums.

that Merzbow collab is easily the best thing that Full of Hell have done, as for Ulcerate i prefer Vermis, the atmosphere in that album makes me feel like im emerged in some black water, not that their other albums dont have that great atmosphere, but Vermis was the album that really pushed the atmosphere as far as it could go.

I bought Of Malice and the Magnum Heart today Moog, thought you'd appreciate~ Also bought a new copy of O' God, the Aftermath (the Deluxe version), a friend gave me my other one and it looked a bit rugged.

ok. good for you. and i enjoy having my ear drums and hearing intact. as well as being able to understand what i'm listening to. (though i don't mind listening to japanese, german, korean, etc. music)

ive always wanted to get Of Malice but i only have Mirrors and Absent Light, Of Malice is still one of my favorite albums ever, O God is amazing too but i prefer Redeemer the most out of any other Norma Jean album, i also own a copy of O God along with Meridional and Wrongdoers.

honey he was just joking with that first bit. its cool and we all have different preferences though i find the more you listen to a certain heavier sound the more coherent it becomes and besides some bands need to disregard coherency for things like atmosphere and raw energy in certain cases so its fine with me.

its cool and we all have different preferences though i find the more you listen to a certain heavier sound the more coherent it becomes and besides some bands need to disregard coherency for things like atmosphere and raw energy in certain cases so its fine with me.

I do think it's their best though, I like the old vocalist more. I'm not really sure why else I think it's their best, just needs more listens!

i love Karl but i agree that Jesse was the better vocalist, he was way more raw and emotional sounding. Of Malice is just pure beauty it really captures the crushing heaviness and beautiful atmosphere of their music not that their other albums didnt have that going for them but Of Malice had Jesse on it, Mirrors is really good too if you havent heard it yet, that album is definitely my second favorite since its much more diverse but it doesnt hit the feels as hard as Of Malice does, though i still dont get whats up with Patrick Stump appearing on that album...thats really weird, even more weird than that one time Gerard Way appeared on an Every Time I Die record.

There are some very strange connections in the music world that I could never have guessed were real...like James Dewees (who played drums in Coalesce until 2000) ending up playing keys in My Chemical Romance. And Haley Williams making a guest spot on a song by The Chariot.

i knew about the Coalesce drummer since you told me that before but i never knew about Haley Williams doing a guest appearance on The Chariot, i think she did one with mewithoutYou though. Gerard Way also sang a song on stage with Thursday.

Yea, she shows up on The Fiancee, on the track "Then Came to Kill". She did two songs on mewithoutYou's Ten Stories...I like her better in other people's bands than her own haha.   

 

I just looked up that Gerard Way guest spot, he was on "Jet Black New Year" which is pretty awesome, I didn't know about that. I'm going to listen for him now haha. Tim McIlrath of Rise Against shows up on their song "Resuscitation of a Dead Man".

anyways all this talk about Gerard has got me wanting to re-listen to their debut, damn this was such a good album, its too bad that they went off to a major record label and went from a sick raw Hardcore Punk band to the commercial Pop Punk/Alt Rock that they were before they split up, ugh what a way to go downhill

I love Disambiguation but Define the Great Line was the one that really sold me on hardcore music in high school, plus it feels the most epic, technical and complete to me. I still remember hearing the opening riff for the first time and laughing out loud at how awesome it was.
