Susie
I'm not really a fan of either band unfortunately =( I just ordered a CD bundle of every Darkspace album, quite stoked to get it. Awesome ambient black metal, really feels like you're in the vast infinite blackness that is space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp5bWy-a5Joi thought that you were sorta into Finch, ah well ever dug into The Appleseed Cast? ill get onto Darkspace sometime

I've never listened to The Appleseed Cast.yeah thats what I figured you felt about Finch The Appleseed Cast are a Post-Rock influenced Midwest Emo band, ive only heard a few songs by them, but theyre definitely one of the best in the Emo category

Forest Fire
that sounds pretty great, i love weird, i love early Post-Hardcore, and i love prog rock...sorta Far, theyre goodhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-xfonJrlTU also Finch did a coverhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1vdY1NI_7sThese two were pretty good.Ever hear of All That Remains? Susie
These two were pretty good.Ever hear of All That Remains? Water & Solutions is one of the cult classic albums of the 90s and their guitarist teamed up with China Moreno and did a pretty weird side project known as Crosses, its interesting stuff if youre into dark experimental trip-hop/shoegaze-esque sort of electronic stuff as for Finch, Say Hello to Sunshine is easily the best thing that theyve put out experimental and more of a straight-up Post-Hardcore sound. What It Is To Burn isnt bad either, its typical but still enjoyable, youll end up liking it if youre big into Pop Punk bands, their most recent album that they just dropped last year after forming back together is great too, sort of like a mix between SHTS and WIITB, its got all of the experimental stuff but more catchy songwriting thrown in. cant say that im a fan of All That Remains, theyre not really the sort of Metalcore that i dig. this is more up my alleyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glc9PMjj7PU&list=PLFasMuUANeii6HuMSaH5bu2CcCrDlqr9a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XlccGu58Bc&list=PLtXEy8WNCEGfS40Q1hP7elssbrxadt6oh
Tentacruel
That Underoath song is top sheet m9. I gotta look into more of their stuff. I did not like them the first time I heard them. I think it was one of their more radio-ish tracks. All That Remains is cool. I don't listen to nearly as much metalcore as I used to, but I still make it a point to include them just because of how I much I hate the trve kvlt people. ON THAT VERY NOTE\
Susie
That Underoath song is top s*** m9. ON THAT VERY NOTE\ yeah a lot of people get turned off by Underoath due to hearing some of the more radio-friendly stuff theyve put out, which is mostly from the fact that Theyre Only Chasing Safety is their most popular record and that one is their most commercial sounding record too. Disambiguation was Underoath at their best, The Changing of Times, Lost In the Sound of Seperation and Define the Great Line are also worth listening to, you may or may not like Cries of the Past and Act of Depression. August Burns Red are sick, my personal favorite by them is Rescue and Restore, theyve got a new record coming out this year.

ON THAT VERY NOTE\ I don't really like All That Remains. August Burns Red is much better but I don't dig them too much either aside from Thrill Seeker. Don't think that means I don't like metalcore, Rorschach, Deadguy, Converge, Botch, Coalesce, Knut, and Seizures are some of the best. This all is or was influenced by 90s metalcore, which is very different than what people generally accept as metalcore today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70uSvLIfTGU
Tentacruel
Yeah, you seem to like more hardcore-ish metalcore bands. I'm big into melodeath which is why I like stuff like Trivium I guess. August Burns Red has grown on me though. Also more Gojira. I want to hear their new album already. I don't know if anything could top From Mars to Sirius though.

Tentacruel
The Devil Wears Prada is definitely a band I could listen to more if it weren't for the vocals. My throat hurts just hearing it.

My throat hurts just hearing it.i can understand vocals being a problem for some, i have the same issue with Chiodos music because of Craig Owens vocalshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGN89b4CP-Ehe sounds like Anthony Green and Tillian Pearson on helium, gives me a bad headache

Susie
Holy s*** his voice is annoying. Also since this isn't spam, here's the best metalcore song of all time. yeah Craig Owens is really annoying with his vocals, too bad it really takes away from the sweet instrumentals that they have, thankfully Craig left the band on one of their albums, Illuminadio, ive never listened to it but i bet that whoever they got for the vocals on that album are even half as bad as Craigs are. also wigglecore is now an official genre
~NOiSE~
Yeah, you seem to like more hardcore-ish metalcore bands. I'm big into melodeath which is why I like stuff like Trivium I guess. August Burns Red has grown on me though. I'm a fan of controlled chaos, along with interesting rhythms and heavy dissonance, which a lot of the first-wave metalcore bands showcased a lot. It's hard for me to find modern bands that pay homage to that classic style while still being interesting, Seizures being one of the few I can think of at the moment. Of course Converge is still around but they sound more like His Hero Is Gone and Entombed now (still freaking awesome though). I second Underoath being great as well. My favorites are Define the Great Line and Ø (Disambiguation).
Forest Fire
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70uSvLIfTGU These were really good, imo. The others by Gojira... not so much. *shrug* The Devil Wears Prada is definitely a band I could listen to more if it weren't for the vocals. My throat hurts just hearing it.I already feel the not-so-silent judgement, but this was actually pretty good. Is german music metal or just inherently metal sounding? Susie
Coral youre right this album is pretty sickhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYnKTRd9vKUalso downloaded three Extol albums that ill be giving a shot (Burial, Undeceived and Self-titled) I already feel the not-so-silent judgement, but this was actually pretty good. if youre getting into TDWP then you should try listening to Underoath Norma Jean Alexisonfire and From Autumn to Ashes
~NOiSE~
I don't think The Devil Wears Prada is too similar to any of those bands...I really like Underoath and Norma Jean though. Glad you like Ulcerate Moog, they're really great. Vermis has the best of all their sounds, while Everything Is Fire is the most violent and The Destroyers of All is a lumbering giant. Their first album Of Fracture and Failure has similar attributes but has more of a death-grind feel at times, and a different vocalist who does a lot of high screams as well as low. Awesome that you're gonna jam some Extol Moog, Undeceived is probably the best. Super happy that we've got more people posting now, not that I didn't love having Moog all to myself~<3 Flourishing. Super happy that we've got more people posting now, not that I didn't love having Moog all to myself~<3 Flourishing. i know that they arent very similar though i find that those bands tend to share fanbases and plus all of them have been known to change their sound on their later works, and also all bands use catchy hooks without over glorifying them, or just plain drowning in excessive amounts of poppy-ness. they arent similar in sound, but theyre similar in other ways Ulcerate make me feel like im drowning in a giant lake of black water, heavy, dark, brutal, atmospheric, strange and beautiful. ill see if i can get any of their other albums onto my iPod. i finished my Extol jam, Undeceived and the self-titled were both sick as hell, i liked listening to Burial as well, but not as much as Undeceived and their self-titled. Ember is easily my favorite track by themhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd9_PCiif-Q&list=PLqRZrHgbTNmhL7ubLBEBiEk9wTFm7jxo3¶ms=EAEYATgBSAFYB2ILSWdWbkFjbWdvRWNoAw%253D%253Di also decided to download The Blueprint Device too, but it wouldnt copy onto my iTunes so i could get it onto my iPod ill probably get to Flourishing another time Super happy that we've got more people posting now, not that I didn't love having Moog all to myself~<3 stop being such a pedo you perv
~NOiSE~
I'm sorry Moog, you're just too cute. I'm jamming Burial now and man I dig this way more than I remember. Tentacruel
Apparently Extol actually came out with a new album recently. I didn't know they were still active. Granted it's much lighter than their old stuff, it's still pretty cool, and still unique/defined.
