Mehmani
· Hidden by Mehmani, December 2, 2010 - It appears to be some kind of warped "policy" that mentioning or posting anything that supports Draco is evil. Talk about free speech, huh? For anyone wanting to know what this post contained - it contained several pictures of the Moderator Forums that support the claim that Draco is a scapegoat. Catman25
What happened on the 1st of December? A member (who will remain nameless due to fear of punishment) didn't like the way he was treated by the Moderators. He thought them incompetent and above the law themselves. He spoke out, they framed him and punished him. He complained, they silenced him. They hoped that eventually he would be forgotten. He isn't yet, but seeing as the vast majority of YCM at the moment is made up of hipsters who post-spam and act like they are somehow elite (the term "noob" or "newfag" springs to mind, a small memory from my 4chan days), it won't be long. They will win.*cough*DracoStrabryn*cough*. What do I win? Unless I'm thinking of a totally different uprising.

Larxene
^Damn you. I wanted to be the one to spoil the fun. If I recall correctly though, December 1st was the day he joined YCM. I'm not entirely sure though, but I think that's the main significance of it. Either that, or it was the day he was banned.

Grunt Issun
The phrase "remember remember" is based on the gunpowder plot by Guy Fawkes but since he was a Catholic, I'd feel a bit ashamed to be associated with him. Also you didn't even get the date right. Just sayin'.Whoah, I was just reading a book that had a part about the gunpowder plot in it, freaky

Muluck
I am severely surprised that you took the time to Google all of this information. I dip my hat to you Ma'dam. What the hell is "YCM history"?T_T Nothing happened. Except some drama only 5-year-olds get excited about every year (and I've been around for enough time). But if you're interested into the real thing: * 800 – Charlemagne judges the accusations against Pope Leo III in the Vatican. * 1420 – Henry V of England enters Paris. * 1640 – End of the Iberian Union: Portugal acclaims as King João IV of Portugal, thus ending a 60 year period of personal union of the crowns of Portugal and Spain and the end of the rule of the House of Habsburg (also called the Philippine Dynasty). * 1768 – The slave ship Fredensborg sinks off Tromøy in Norway. * 1821 – The first constitution of Costa Rica is issued. * 1822 – Peter I is crowned Emperor of Brazil. * 1824 – U.S. presidential election, 1824: Since no candidate had received a majority of the total electoral college votes in the election, the United States House of Representatives is given the task of deciding the winner in accordance with the Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution. * 1826 – French philhellene Charles Nicolas Fabvier forces his way through the Turkish cordon and ascends the Acropolis of Athens, which had been under siege. * 1834 – Slavery is abolished in the Cape Colony in accordance with the Slavery Abolition Act 1833. * 1864 – In his State of the Union Address President Abraham Lincoln reaffirms the necessity of ending slavery as ordered ten weeks earlier in the Emancipation Proclamation. * 1913 – Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Buenos Aires Subway starts operating, it`s the first underground railway system in the southern hemisphere and in Latin America * 1913 – The Ford Motor Company introduces the first moving assembly line. * 1913 – Crete, having obtained self rule from Turkey after the First Balkan War, is annexed by Greece. * 1918 – Transylvania unites with Romania, following the incorporation of Bessarabia (March 27) and Bukovina (November 28). * 1918 – Iceland becomes a sovereign state, yet remains a part of the Danish kingdom. * 1918 – The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (later known as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia) is proclaimed. * 1919 – Lady Astor becomes the first female Member of Parliament to take her seat in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom (she had been elected to that position on November 28). * 1925 – World War I aftermath: The final Locarno Treaty is signed in London, establishing post-war territorial settlements. * 1934 – In the Soviet Union, Politburo member Sergei Kirov is shot dead by Leonid Nikolayev at the Communist Party headquarters in Leningrad. * 1941 – World War II: Fiorello La Guardia, Mayor of New York City and Director of the Office of Civilian Defense, signs Administrative Order 9, creating the Civil Air Patrol. * 1952 – The New York Daily News reports the news of Christine Jorgenson, the first notable case of sexual reassignment surgery. * 1955 – American Civil Rights Movement: In Montgomery, Alabama, seamstress Rosa Parks refuses to give up her bus seat to a white man and is arrested for violating the city's racial segregation laws, an incident which leads to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. * 1958 – The Central African Republic becomes independent from France. * 1958 – The Our Lady of the Angels School Fire in Chicago, Illinois, kills 92 children and three nuns. * 1959 – Cold War: Opening date for signature of the Antarctic Treaty, which sets aside Antarctica as a scientific preserve and bans military activity on the continent. * 1960 – Paul McCartney and Pete Best are arrested then deported from Hamburg, Germany, after accusations of attempted arson. * 1961 – The independent Republic of West Papua is proclaimed in modern-day Western New Guinea. * 1963 – Nagaland becomes the 16th state of India. * 1964 – Vietnam War: U.S. President Lyndon B. Floyd.
Draco got banned for standing up against the corrupt mods? That's a shame...Oh please, they are hardly corrupt and hardly powerful, they're given some administrator tools to help keep the site in check. Members such as JoshIcy don't go flaunting around their privileges or go power mad, they post and lock when necessary. To be honest this whole "Mod being corrupt" thing is a little stupid. They all have better judgement, like most of us, and at times and let there feelings get in the way of there moderation, but wouldn't we all? Mods on this site are humans, and at the end of the day it's just a forum, who cares about some banned member that joined on the first of December? They earned the title moderator and I'm sure half of you wouldn't turn it down if you were to be offered it. It's nice you create your own history by doing this whole thing as I have said before, but really? .-.

I don't respect moderators who abuse their position, more so to the point to actually think their above everyone else when it's a simple forum and the new member could be an academic and the moderator your average run of the mill geek. Mehmani
Mind you this was back in the day when mods legitimately were pretty shitty. Now they are better, or at least the mods I deal with. Also, (who will remain nameless due to fear of punishment) springs a few questions to mind: Who would punish you for writing "Draco" with red firecrackers in the sky? Surely not him, right? And why would you revere someone who would punish you for mentioning his name? Hey, I got a PM after posting in this thread saying I was post locked unless I removed some incriminating evidence (i.e. YCMLies, YCMSpies screenies). You CAN get punished for supporting Draco, I had a chat with a certain moderator who informed me it was Forum Policy to post-lock anyone who posted information regarding the moderation team's actions at that time. The whole thing about the moderators conspiring to stop people mentioning Draco is actually true - I thought it was bull until I experienced the consequences. The Mods back then were indeed shitty, and although the entire team isn't bad now there are still some particular moderators who are shitty. I'm also not one to be overly critical, but Opal's actions reminded me of a certain thing mentioned in the infamous screenshots - the idea that giving you-know-who bad press and lying about him would swing the majority of the forum in their favour. Opal is rather obviously spouting stuff in an attempt to stop people defending him or attacking the moderating team's actions. Like it or not, what the Mods suggested to do with him then was bad, and was ethically and morally unjust. Suggesting that lying about him and his actions to make the forum support them is a terrible thing to do. I'm going to use an example that is actually used in the screenshotted post "Think of what the USA did to the Communists in the 1950s & 60s" - the forum team were suggesting that they should spread propaganda about Draco for their own gain. They demonized him and even suggesting planting a worm in his forum to get their own back. That doesn't sound very nice, does it? Opalmoon's actions are simple - she is attempting to persuade you that supporting Draco makes you a sad low-life and that he was a sad low-life. She is attempting to stop you from supporting Draco and debating against the moderation team's actions surrounding Draco by using underhand emotional tactics - which, if I may add, is a morally unacceptable debating strategy. CinnamonStar
Not at all, I'm pretty sure that most of you have lives outside of the Internet. Draco didn't though or at least it comes over like that and that's the sad thing. But I never got why that Guy Fawkes guy was so special (Catholic being mad at his Protestant government) and using him as an allegory or celebrating him like many people do in England is kind of pointless, since there are hundreds of other people who did better. <_< But I guess not everyone gets a celebration day like that so... And yes I have the right to get that kind of opinion because no other member made such a hubbub about getting butthurt or banned on the Internet, scrap Ragnarok.-_- PS: I don't even remember what the mods back then did to him and maybe I wasn't in the team yet so I don't get what "morally and ethically unjust" thing was done to him. But I guess we all got some unjust stuff done to us over the Internet but most people I know get over it. And do you think I care so much about who you guys support or not? He and IDK how many other people get enough of support the whole year through and I usually don't care unless people make whole threads about a single member, that's quite attention-grabbing. You can go ahead and marry him or whatever for all I care, but I'd prefer if he did that stuff he supposedly did here in real life, towards a real government. Or something useful like saving a cat, helping at the animal shelter or something like that. What was different about the mods "back then" and the mods now?=/ Sorry I don't have the timeframe in mind anymore.
