Supposedly, You can't use his 1st and 2nd Effects together. Even though the actions of the first effect are simultaneous. WTF?

Discuss Neo Spacians and how Space Gift is one of the most broken archetype support cards ever made.

It would be too strong if you could use both effects at once... but use Sangan and it's almost the same

Also, X-Sabers and Infernities need a card like Space Gift, they are just too slow

It doesn't work in the OCG either.

You're right, based on the TCG wording, it should work.

Chances are its simply mistranslated. It is not an "and" effect, but a ", then" effect, similar to Cyber Valley's second effect.

Therefore, the text of Cross Porter's first effect should state "You can send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard, then Special Summon 1 "Neo-Spacian" monster from your hand.", meaning they do not happen simultaneously.

Normally, TCG usually follows the card text printed on the English Cards until a reprint occurs. I don't know why it wouldn't now if that is the TCG's ruling. Cross Porter would need updated lore.

Also, the card says "You can" for both effects, and only 1 optional effect can be activated at a time.
Yes, they are two separate effects but they are not activating at the same time.

Ignition: You can send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard and Special Summon 1 "Neo-Spacian" monster from your hand.

Trigger: When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 "Neo-Spacian" monster from your Deck to your hand.

If you activate the Ignition Effect of Cross Porter to send Cross Porter to the Graveyard, considering it is an "and" effect, you would send Cross Porter to the Graveyard and Special Summon 1 "Neo-Spacian" monster from your hand.

Therefore, there are two conditions you can activate cards for: "A monster was Special Summoned" and "Cross Porter was sent to the Graveyard". Cross Porter wouldn't miss the timing here, so you should be able to activate it.

The video games when doing this state Cross Porter misses the timing. Therefore, the only logical reasoning would be that Cross Porter's first effect does not happen simultaneously. It would happen sequentially. If you simply couldn't activate it because you couldn't activate it, no such pop-up should appear within the video games stating you missed the timing, so I would think.

It wouldn't be the same as Volcanic Scattershot where you cannot activate both trigger effects at the same time. You would have to choose one or the other in that card's case.

Actually, Scattershot's abilities can't trigger at the same time and you don't exactly get a choice. In fact:
If this card is sent to the Graveyard for the effect of a "Blaze Accelerator" card, its effect to inflict 500 damage to your opponent does not activate.
I think that's more of a BKSS though.

Anyway, I kinda wish this wouldn't miss the timing.
Neo-Spacians generally are weak (and unfinished), but Space Gift is incredibly strong. If Neo-Spacians could swarm and stay on the field longer, Space Gift would be incredibly broken.

I see. Then its more of a "If it is sent to the Graveyard for the effect of Blaze Accelerator, then you can send 2 blah blah etc. If it is sent to the Graveyard for any other reason, inflict 500 Damage to your Opponent".

One's also an optional "If" trigger and the other is a mandatory "When" trigger. I dunno if "If" supersedes "When" somehow. Honestly, it is the only card I can think of that has two trigger effects with the same timing, so there's not much to work with outside of guesswork. There's nothing to compare it to.

It is clear that you cannot activate both effects at the same time in one chain (For example, if it was sent to the Graveyard for the effect of a Blaze Accelerator Card, both effects would trigger, one being Chain Link #1 and the other being Chain Link #2. That is unheard of (and being the only card I can think of with an effect like this, it should be). I can picture this not happening easily.

I had thought if you chose not to activate the second effect, then the 500 Damage from the first effect would activate and go through, which is incorrect. Perhaps since "If" is the condition for activation of the second effect, and since it has no specific timing, if the condition is true, you must use that effect (An "If" conditioned effect with no timing is Mandatory even if it is a "you can" effect). If the condition is false, then you can use the damage inflicting effect.

I guess since the Condition fits true, you are forced to use that effect instead of the "Inflict 500 Damage" effect. That's the only thing I can think of, especially since there are no other cards that do something like this.
