kevmaster
Hello everyone. This is my Chaos build. Since my Deck seems to be just like every other Chaos build, I will take some time to explain how it works, and some great plays you can do.
The deck functions with two main engines besides of the Envoys and the Traditional Staples. The main draw engine of the deck consists on reviving Destiny Hero - Disk Commander as much as you can to abuse its effect in order to draw 2 cards each time he is revived. For this to go on, you first need to dump him. There are a lot of ways to accomplish that: Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, Witch of the Black Forest, Sangan, Painful Choice, etc. Second, you have to revive it, for that this engine relies on Hidden Armory and Premature Burial. 3 Hidden Armoryes and a Premature Burial are 4 Premature Burials effectively. This, plus Monster Reborn and Call of the Haunted, means that I have 6 cards that can revive Destiny Hero - Disk Commander, and thus, each becoming effectively a Pot of Greed. In that way you can make a count of 8 cards that make you draw (3 Hidden Armories + 1 Premature Burial + Destiny Hero - Disk Commander, 1 Pot of Greed and 1 Graceful Charity) without counting the effects of Magician of Faith and Dark Magician of Chaos that can return a Spell card to my hand. On the other side, I have what I call my Dark Magician of Chaos/Armory Engine, in which the star is my favorite card: the Dark Magician of Chaos. He makes an appearance on almost all my duels. I’ll explain. First, for both engines to work, I have to settle my graveyard, or at least draw Destiny Hero - Disk Commander or Dark Magician of Chaos, for my Draw engine or this one respectively. To accomplish that, I have Painful Choice and all the draw power my deck has, so it is reliable that I can draw all the cards I need. At the level after that, I’ll try to revive the Magician if he has been dumped or try to Tribute Summon him, using as fodder monsters obtained with Change of Heart, Snatch Steal, Premature Burial or Monster Reborn or with the effects of Glow-Up Bulb or Plaguespreader Zombie. After this, I’ll have a 2800 attack beatstick and any spell card from my graveyard in my hand. Eventually, in a format where mass removal is abundant (Raigeki, Dark Hole, etc.), my magician will soon face death and will be removed from play by its own effect. This is where the engine starts running. With Hidden Armory and D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation I will be able to return to the field my beloved magician, and a spell card to my hand too, every time he is destroyed. In this case, I’ll choose Hidden Armory to return it to my hand, so when the magician dies again, I can Hidden Armory into D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation, so the magician will returning to the field along with a Hidden Armory to my hand, and thus, making an infinite loop. So this is what my Dark Magician of Chaos/Armory Engine is about. However, you may think that this engine can be limited to the fact that I have to discard a card in order to activate D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation. So, that is why Sinister Serpent has made it into my deck. Another aspect of the deck relies on Magical Scientist. Everyone knows that he is like a Swiss Army Knife since he can get rid of almost any threat my opponent has on the field when Dark Blade the Dragon Knight, Dark Balter the Terrible, Ryu Senshi, Fiend Skull Dragon and Thousand-Eyes Restrict respectively. However, this is not the only task he has now. He can make Synchros by himself, since I can special summon any fusion monster of the desired level in order to make a synchro out with Glow-Up Bulb or Plaguespreader Zombie (they can be revived from the graveyard with their own effects). For example, special summon Musician King and Plaguespreader Zombie for an Arcanite Magician. One card that deserved to be explained is Painful Choice. It has 2 main uses: to set up my graveyard, more commonly choosing between Destiny Hero - Disk Commander, Dark Magician of Chaos, Plaguespreader Zombie, Glow-Up Bulb, Sinister Serpent and 1 or 2 Light monsters (depending on what I need at the moment); or, if I have the Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End in my hand along with a way to revive a monster (like a Hidden Armory, Premature Burial, Monster Reborn or Call Of The Haunted), to go for the Yata-Lock choosing Sangan, Witch of the Black Forest, 1 Dark Monster and 2 Light Monsters The other cards listed are staples for almost every traditional deck. Most Common Win Conditions: Dark Magician of Chaos/Armory Engine Chaos Monsters Yata-Lock
Total 40 Monsters: 17 1 Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning Lv: 8 1 Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End Lv: 8 1 Dark Armed Dragon Lv: 7 1 Dark Magician of Chaos Lv: 8 Dark: 5 1 Destiny Hero - Disk Commander Lv: 1 1 Magical Scientist Lv: 1 1 Plaguespreader Zombie [Tuner] Lv: 2 1 Sangan Lv: 3 1 Witch of the Black Forest Lv: 4 Light: 4 3 Thunder King Rai-Oh Lv: 4 1 Magician of Faith Lv: 1 Other: 4 1 Yata-Garasu Lv: 2 1 Glow-Up Bulb [Tuner] Lv: 1 1 Tribe-Infecting Virus Lv: 4 1 Sinister Serpent Lv: 1 Spell Cards: 18 2 Hidden Armory 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Heavy Storm 1 Harpie's Feather Duster 1 Dark Hole 1 Raigeki 1 Premature Burial 1 Monster Reborn 1 Snatch Steal 1 Change of Heart 1 Pot of Greed 1 Graceful Charity 1 Delinquent Duo 1 The Forceful Sentry 1 D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation 1 Painful Choice Trap Cards: 5 1 Imperial Order 1 Mirror Force 1 Ring of Destruction 1 Torrential Tribute 1 Crush Card Virus Extra Deck: 15 Synchro: 7 1 Ally of Justice Catastor Lv: 5 1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier Lv: 6 1 Goyo Guardian Lv: 6 1 Black Rose Dragon Lv: 7 1 Dark Strike Fighter Lv: 7 1 Arcanite Magician Lv: 7 1 Stardust Dragon Lv: 8 Scientist: 8 2 Dark Balter the Terrible Lv: 5 1 Fiend Skull Dragon Lv: 5 2 Ryu Senshi Lv: 6 1 Thousand-Eyes Restrict Lv: 1 1 Musician King Lv: 5 1 Dark Blade the Dragon Knight Lv: 6 Side Deck: 15 3 Herald of Purple Light 3 Herald of Green Light 3 Effect Veiler 3 D.D. Sephiroth_The_Legend
Finally, a decent Traditional Deck!! -1 Magical Scientist -1 Starlight Road -4 Scientist Fusions that will put you at 40 and fix your Extra Deck issue. kevmaster
I'm updating the deck now, its even better and with a nice explanation! thoughts please! I want to fit Effect Veiler in for the light line up I'll have to disagre on Magical Scientist, he is just to good to drop it, he can make tuners in combination with bulb and zombie, and also can get rid of any threat my opp has. Maybe Thought Ruler Archfiend can be changed for other synchro.. thoughts? (however, I like it a lot, just personal preference) Cards I think MAY be taken out: Crush Card Virus Call of the Haunted Gorz the Emissary of Darkness 1 Hidden Armory
Sephiroth_The_Legend
Drop the Hidden Armory Scientist is good, but better in his own Deck.
Buttercup
Scientist wins games by himself. -3 Armory -1 Mirror Force -1 Crush -3 T King -1 DMOC -1 DDR +3 Veiler +3 Kycoo +1 Brain Control DMOC loop isn't that good.
kevmaster
agreed about scientist, he wins games by himself if i were to make your changes, dont u think d.d. crow would be better than kycoo since his effect is faster? and why brain control is a hidden armory can be a snatch steal?
Sephiroth_The_Legend
you must be joking removing DMOC.... he's a 2800 beater that removes and recovers Spells... -1 kycoo +1 dmoc.
Buttercup
Without the Armory engine, he's bad. I just dislike the engine, it seems slow.
agreed about scientist, he wins games by himself if i were to make your changes, dont u think d.d. crow would be better than kycoo since his effect is faster? and why brain control is a hidden armory can be a snatch steal? kevmaster
its slow because its not a first turn thing but its awesome pal, i think that d.d. crow will do the job better (stops envoys and dad instantly), with dd crow and rai oh i think is enough for the mirror

kevmaster
one of the reasons i use glow-up bulb and plaguespreader zombie is that I sometimes use them as tribute fodder for dmoc since they can return from the grave. I mostly use the dmof/armory engine to get field presence and control the board, since dmoc is a 2800 beatstick that removes every monster it destroys. If he cannot win the game by himself, then, dad and the envoys are the next thing to do. Update*** Im down to 40 cards in the main, yes ! take a look at my slightly improved deck ! and take a look at the side deck and extra deck too. I want to fit Confiscation in. Thoughts?
