I know YCM is full people who can't come up with a decent conversation but like... damn, are you guys like this in real life? Walk up to someone and be all like: "Trains! Let's talk about trains!" That's a terrible way to start any worthwhile discussion.

The best way to get a decent convo started is for the first poster to state his opinion first. Like damn, is it really that difficult for you kids to communicate?

The TCG section you rule over is basically like that o_O
*Posts card* Discuss.

And of course we're not like that in real life. At least, I'm not. The computer is basically a place to act like you're insane.

I'm aware. It sucks there and it sucks here too. At the very least, the default discussion is about how the card affects the meta. What's this discussion supposed to be about? Why communism has failed every time it was implemented and what can be done to stop that? Which is better, communism or capitalism? Why communism gets such a bad stigma in today's society? There's so much to discuss on the subject of communism and by throwing out such a wide net you end up not catching anything.

This is just out of the blue I guess. No need for proper examination. And..are you at least following the topic?

Basically, Americans are just to scared for the thought of this. It wasn't that bad, it was taken into hand badly I guess.

OT: I personally think the basic idea of Communism - "having an equal world" - is really good. Then again, I can't stand hard-working people having the same salary as those who aren't. Men aren't machines. In the end, the seemingly good idea becomes horrible.[/captain obvious post]

I like the Bakunin anarchist-communist idea. Small, self-directed communes as the basic form of living is pretty much the only way I see anarchy working.
Can those of the communes be trusted to self-direct?
The liberty of man consists solely in this, that he obeys the laws of nature because he has himself recognized them as such, and not because they have been imposed upon him externally by any foreign will whatsoever, human or divine, collective or individual.
One is but their influences. From the moment one's born, cause and effect is what shapes an individual. Because one cannot obey any law without guidance from some form of influence throughout their cause and effect shaping, they could not liberate themselves if we're to take Bakunin's quote at face value.

Governments in general don't work because of their tendency to assume that those in power know what is right and have the intention to apply what is right. Communisms generally base theirselves on distributing power evenly to all people involved, but the problem still remains. Communisms generally don't work because of their tendency to assume that those involved know what is right and have the intention to apply what is right.
