Vector Nightmare
NOTE: All names used are OCG ones. The effects of Savior Star and Savior Demons were changed slightly. Also, following the anime trend, their support leans towards Monsters and Traps, as regular Spells are unusable in Riding Duels, and Savior-exclusive Speed Spells wouldn't make much sense in-universe-wise. Also, Savior Synchro monsters' effects (will) follow the following format: the first part will be a modified / upgraded version of the original's effect (ie Stardust tributes itself to negate a destruction effect and revives in the End Phase, Savior Star tributes itself to negate any effect and destroy all enemy cards, but does not revive). The second part deals with negating an enemy effect (as the Savior Dragons were 'made' to battle the Earthbound Gods, and they needed the negation effect to deal with them). The third part returns the dragon to the Extra Deck during the End Phase and returns the original. ======= Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon LIGHT / Dragon / Tuner Level 1 0/0 This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a "Majestic" monster. If you control a Level 7 or higher Dragon-Type Synchro monster, you can remove 1 Level 1 monster in your Graveyard from play to add this card in your Graveyard to your hand. ======= Savior Star Dragon WIND / Dragon / Synchro Level 10 3800/3000 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" + "Stardust Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner monster You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect and destroy all cards your opponent controls. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase. This card then gains the effect(s) of that monster, in addition to its own effect, while it remains face-up on the field or until the End Phase. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Stardust Dragon" from your Graveyard. ======= Savior Demon Dragon DARK / Dragon / Synchro Level 10 4000/3000 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" + "Red Demons Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner monster If this card would be destroyed by the effect of 1 of your opponent's cards, you can negate the effect of that card and destroy it, then deal damage to the opponent equal to half this card's ATK. If this card attacks, destroy all Defense Position monsters on the field after damage calculation. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and have this card gain ATK equal to the negated monster's ATK, until the End Phase. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Red Demons Dragon" from your Graveyard. ======= Savior Rose Dragon FIRE / Dragon / Synchro Level 9 3700/2800 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" + "Black Rose Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner monster When this card destroys another monster by battle, you can destroy all cards on the field and inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each card destroyed. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase, and Special Summon 1 Plant-Type monster from your hand, Deck or Graveyard whose ATK is equal to or lower than that monster's ATK. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Black Rose Dragon" from your Graveyard. ======= Savior Fairy Dragon LIGHT / Dragon / Synchro Level 9 3600/4000 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" + "Ancient Fairy Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner monster Once per turn, you can add a Field Spell from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. Once per turn, you can destroy 1 Field Spell you control to destroy all Spell and Trap cards your opponent controls. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase, and increase your Life Points by the DEF of that monster. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Ancient Fairy Dragon" from your Graveyard. ======= Savior Black Dragon DARK / Dragon / Synchro Level 10 3900/2600 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" + "Blackfeather Dragon" + 1 non-Tuner monster While you control this face-up card, you do not take damage from card effects, if your opponent pays Life Points to activate a card effect, he must pay twice as many Life Points, and if you have to pay Life Points to activate a card effect, you must pay half as many Life Points. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase, and deal damage to your opponent equal to that monster's ATK. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Blackfeather Dragon" from your Graveyard. ======= Savior Sky TRAP / Continuous If a "Savior" monster you control would be removed from the field during the End Phase by its own effect, it is not removed. When a "Savior" monster you control destroys another monster by battle, draw 1 card. During your Main Phase, you can send this card you control to the Graveyard. If you do, during this turn, you can send 1 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" and 1 Level 1 Tuner monster you control to the Graveyard, and return 1 Dragon-Type Synchro monster from your Graveyard to your Extra Deck. You can then Special Summon 1 "Savior" Synchro monster from your Graveyard that lists the returned monster as a Synchro Material Monster (this Special Summon is treated as a Synchro Summon). ======= Savior Knight LIGHT / Warrior Level 4 2100/1000 This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set unless your opponent controls at least 2 monsters, and you control less than 2 monsters. You can tribute this face-up card you control to Special Summon 1 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" from your Deck. ======= Savior Mirage LIGHT / Fiend Level 1 0/100 You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to add 1 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" from your Deck to your hand. ======= Savior Spirit LIGHT / Fairy / Spirit Level 1 300/100 This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up. When this card is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" from your hand. ======= Miracle Salvation TRAP / Normal Activate only by discarding 1 "Savior" monster from your hand, and then revealing 1 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" in your hand. Special Summon 1 Level 8 or lower Dragon-Type Synchro monster from your Extra Deck in Defense Position. That monster's effect(s) are negated, and it is returned to the Extra Deck when it is removed from the field. ======= Savior Force TRAP / Normal Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Savior" monster from your Graveyard. When you Synchro Summon a "Savior" monster, you can remove this card in your Graveyard from play to increase the Summoned monster's ATK and DEF by 800. ======= Savior Ray LIGHT / Fairy Level 3 1000/900 If you control "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon", you can discard 1 card from your hand to Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard. If you do, this card can be treated as a Level 1 monster, and it is removed from play when it is removed from the field. ======= Lost Savior Dragon LIGHT / Dragon / Tuner Level 1 0/0 You can Special Summon this card from your hand by returning 1 "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon" from your Graveyard to your Deck. This card's name can be treated as "Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon". ======= Link to comment
.Nu-13
Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon Not much better, but still an improvement for real-life one. It's quite easy to recover, as you'll most probably still have the Level 1 monster you used for synching Majestic in grave. Savior Star Dragon If I read correctly, it now steals effect completly, not only activates it once per turn. A bit better than real-life one, as it an steal Continuous effects too. Savior Demon Dragon Ridiculous burn effect. Especially that it can gain additinal effect. But its summoning conditions balance it. A lot better than real-life one. Savior Rose Dragon First effect is broken. 10 cards on the field = OTK. But it's hard to summon, so I think it's ok. Second effect is good. But seeing as most good Plants have <1000 ATK... eh, but again, balanced because of summoning Savior Fairy Dragon Terraforming on legs that's +1. Ok. Second effect is essentially free Harpie's Feather Duster, as you can search another Field Spell by its effect. LP gain effect won't be that useful, as most cards used in today Meta have relatively low DEF. Savior Black Dragon Draco-Equites has the better version of first effect, because it deflects damage. Cost modification effects are awesome. It makes opponent's Solemn Warning cost 4000 LP, and yours only 1000. But I can't think of any other useful card that requires to pay LP. Burn effect is pretty awesome. Savior Sky Good at maintaining them on field. Draw effect may seem broken at first, but it's not, because you rather won't destroy by battle with them much, as they either burn or do other things. Last effect is awesome, especially with Stardust, because it gets itself to Graveyard easily. And sets up Dragon's recovery effect. Savior Knight Too restrictive at summoning. Effect isn't worth the effort, and there are other beatsticks. And least it's very searchable and abusable. Savior Mirage Nothing much to say, except that it's useful. Savior Spirit So intant Savior synchro. Good. It's quite searchable too. Is there more to say? Miracle Salvation No, no, no, no and no. Did I say no? It gives INSTANT 3000 DEF wall that is't dead when it gets to Graveyard. Or protection from destruction effects. Really broken. Savior Force Not much to say. It's just good. Savior Ray I like it. You know that the way it's worded now it can discard itself and then Special Summon? But that's what makes it good Lost Savior Dragon Not much to say, it's just pro. Link to comment
Vector Nightmare
Dragon of Salvation - Savior Dragon Not much better, but still an improvement for real-life one. It's quite easy to recover, as you'll most probably still have the Level 1 monster you used for synching Majestic in grave. Well, I still wouldn't want to make it like... too abusable by itself, the main point was adding support. However, the real life version was ridiculously weak so I buffed it up a little. Savior Star Dragon If I read correctly, it now steals effect completly, not only activates it once per turn. A bit better than real-life one, as it an steal Continuous effects too. Yeah, I think just stealing a trigger effect is too situational and useless. Considering the pain it is to bring Savior Star out, it's worth it, I believe. Savior Demon Dragon Ridiculous burn effect. Especially that it can gain additinal effect. But its summoning conditions balance it. A lot better than real-life one. Ehm, ridiculous burn effect? Your opponent can just... not try to destroy it, the only reason I even added that part was to make it closer to the anime version. Also, what do you mean by "gain additional effect"? Savior Rose Dragon First effect is broken. 10 cards on the field = OTK. But it's hard to summon, so I think it's ok. Second effect is good. But seeing as most good Plants have <1000 ATK... eh, but again, balanced because of summoning >You Summon a Savior Synchro >There are still 10 cards on the field Something doesn't add up =/. If there are 10 cards on the field when you do that, your opponent is overextending like crazy, and deserves to lose. Also, it's meant to not be able to just casually bring out stuff like Gigaplant, Tytannial... Savior Fairy Dragon Terraforming on legs that's +1. Ok. Second effect is essentially free Harpie's Feather Duster, as you can search another Field Spell by its effect. LP gain effect won't be that useful, as most cards used in today Meta have relatively low DEF. There's a big difference between this and HFD, and that is that you have to run Field Spells yourself. This limits its usefulness a lot. But since it's still quite strong, the counterbalance was in the negation + LP gain which as you said is weak compared to the other Saviors. Personally I think an effect that negates all effect damage and one that deflects it are one and the same, since your opponent just won't use any effect damage either case. Cost modification is kind of a flavor thing, it usually won't affect much except Solemn Warning as you said. Not sure how it would affect Solemn Judgment. Thanks, I think this is one of the better supports I made. Originally I intended it as a field spell, but it wouldn't fit in with Riding Duels and it might be kind of broken with Savior Fairy. Savior Knight Too restrictive at summoning. Effect isn't worth the effort, and there are other beatsticks. And least it's very searchable and abusable. Can't say I see it as too abusable. It requires your opponent to extend a little, which won't always happen. Or you can help them do it with some card. But it's pretty powerful and can stay on the field for one turn, and then can either help you bring out your Dragon Synchro, or search out Savior Dragon if that's what you need. Basically meant to be kind of versatile and act like a wall until you get your stuff together, but it isn't part of the victory condition. Savior Mirage Nothing much to say, except that it's useful. Savior Spirit So intant Savior synchro. Good. It's quite searchable too. Is there more to say? I think "instant" is a bit of a stretch with Spirit, you'll still have to have Savior in hand and a Dragon out there. But yeah, those two are generally meant to speed up the process without requiring the use of the Limited One for One, or something similar. Miracle Salvation No, no, no, no and no. Did I say no? It gives INSTANT 3000 DEF wall that is't dead when it gets to Graveyard. Or protection from destruction effects. Really broken. I don't think you read this quite well. The effect negation in this case doesn't only last while the monster is on the field - Stardust won't be able to activate its effects. And -1ing yourself, especially if you also require another specific card to show, generally isn't worth the 3000 DEF. This is merely meant as a setup more than protection. Savior Force Not much to say. It's just good. Savior Ray I like it. You know that the way it's worded now it can discard itself and then Special Summon? But that's what makes it good Yeah, I know. But it removes itself from play after being Special Summoned, so it's much more balanced than Machina Fortress. Lost Savior Dragon Not much to say, it's just pro. I think this is one of the more debatably overpowered cards I made, considering the support =/. Especially since it can be used to summon other Synchros as well. But, well.
Thanks for the detailed review, I greatly appreciate it. I'll be sure to return the favor. Link to comment
玄魔の王
The first two Synchros are just their anime effects, which were awesome but kinda OP. The other stuff here... kinda cool. Reminds me of my old Saviour thread. 8.5/10. Link to comment
