We all know what it does:

Stops mass destruction and summons a Stardust. On a note, I never triggered my opponent's Starlight Road despite using many destruction effects.

So, discuss it's popularity today and [s]discuss how amazing Starlight Carnival Act 1 is for having a Starlight Road[/s]

care to share your reasoning on that?

Well. My Body As A Shield features Marauding Captain risking his life (and making his ATK -300) just to save his helpless friend Gagagigo who couldn't do the same for anyone despite having 1850 ATK. Which is a good story. It also showed the fact that Invader of Darkness fails badly at attacking, since he was only able to channel approx. half his ATK into damage (only 1500 damage out of 2900 ATK), and his ability to negate Quick-Plays actually didn't work at all in real fights.

In addition, in this speedy meta, paying 1500 isn't much of a cost to destroy your bulky monsters like DAD. Effects destroying only 1 card are extremely frequent - in fact, used at least once in every two turns - while only four or so cards in a deck (Dark Hole, TT, Mirror Force, etc...I think there is something I'm missing) can destroy over two in a turn. And without effect negotation, Stardust can be easily destroyed. It's more like a 2500 vanilla.

And well, you would want to splash in two Stardusts in your Extra the second you start using Starlight Road; otherwise it robs your chance to SS a protective monster that can be extremely useful at times. The Extra Deck space is quite puffed up, so it makes that hard.

Q.E.D.
