Luis2
Has anyone ever used one of these before? It gives your Laptop a line in port because Laptops don't have one. It suppose to allow you to record audio from anywhere like a VCR cassette. The problem is that I don't know how to get the sound to work in the playback. I will have a RCA splitter connected to the in port (which is on the right side of the device) and a white and red AV cable connected to the back of the RCA splitter and the other end of the AV cable connected to the VCR. I use to record both the video and audio with the Dazzle by microphone in windows movie maker but what I don't like about the microphone is that it can record any sound you make or any other sounds while you're trying to record the video and the audio of the cassette, so me and everybody else has to have to stay quiet while I'm recording. I got tire of this because my house is not always quiet. How do I record my cassettes videos without worrying about the video having unnecessary sounds? I have a Twisted Metal 2 video where you can hear cars horns in the background outside my house. This has been holding me back from making more videos. Darth Duelist
Use a regular microphone, like this one: I'm not surprised you're having problems with your microphone, especially after looking at your microphone. The one in the picture above is the one I'd recommend. Also, this question is more suited to a tech-support site like http://techguy.org/ or something (not meaning to advertise). Also, why don't you record on DVDs! Videocassettes are old now and anyways, you can play DVDs on your laptop too, and they are much easier to edit and stuff... Sorry, that's all the help I can give you.
Catterjune
Not particularly tech saavy. What's a Line In port? Why not use a regular microphone?

Not only that, but with this you can go direct from sound boards and stuff if you're into music recording.

But I guess what he was saying is that this helps for more advanced audio stuff.
Luis2
I already solved my problem. The main reason why I brought that USB imic audio was because I thought I can just record the audio of the video cassette and then attach that audio to the video with Windows Movie Maker. When I was recording with the microphone in windows movie maker and Dazzle, I didn't know how to make it stop recording other sounds besides the TV. But now I found out that I needed to configure the Dazzle as an USB audio device. Now I can record the TV without the microphone recording every other sounds it hears. I brought that imic thing for nothing. I didn't really need it. Oh well, I'll just keep it as my stuff collection.
Kizzi
My laptop has a headset and a mic port. Dunno what you guys are talking about, possibly too much alcohol to read the OP.
