Lewk
Any fellow Britain-ians (see what I did there) on here? If so, what did you pick for your GCSE Options in High School (Or 'O Levels' as they used to be called). My choice will be in less than 2 weeks and I'm still sweating with what I should pick. Seriously, I'm thinking: -Art & Design (Always liked Art, but my skills have deteriated over the years) -Media Studies (Everyone we do is basically stuff I do as a hobby, no problems here) -AS Level ICT (I like computers and have experience but I'm still not too sure) I have higher levels in History and Geography then in those, so my parents want me to take them instead. But History is support to be ridiculously hard and Geography is really boring. I'm scared of failing them. ):
.Ash
Media Studies was fairly cool. Practical stuff made it worthwhile. ICT is a joke, it will look good on paper but you could easily self-teach yourself most of the stuff on there. Anything else you learn is pointless. Didn't take Art & Design, was never good enough at it in the first place. My brother took (and is failing) History, but thats mainly due to him being a moron and not paying attention in class. I chose: - Media Studies - ICT - Public Services (was a BTEC) And yes, I'm Britain-ian.
chedbonlahor
I did: -Spanish -French -Eng Lit -Eng Lang -Bio -Chem -Latin -Maths (at I.G.C.S.E) -History
-Griffin
Depends what you're looking for in life. Some Universities don't consider Media Studies very strongly (valid reasoning behind that or not is a different issue). Any ICT below Uni level is worthless - they have to dumb the specification down so that any idiot can manage it, so they aren't able to teach you anything someone half-competent would have trouble doing through intuition. I took Math/English/English/IT(non-optional at my school )/History/Geography/Drama/Chemistry/Physics/Biology/RS I have a feeling I forgot something, but might not have done. Kizzi
I took IT Diploma and business (with electronics as my DT option). I also already have an A* in Media Studies.

Cin
Don't dis Geography, I really enjoyed it especially as A Level. (Yay my C) My sister did IT and I still know more than her. I did: German (1 Language was Core and I did German since Yr 7 so I was forced to continue) Geography (Option) French (Option, I original choose IT, but it was over filled, and History as option had too few students. I failed at failing French) Science (Double Award, Core) Music (Option) English (Core, Lit and Lang) Math (Core) Graphics (Technology Option) R.E (Half Core, Other Half optional) Oxford nice. A Level is really where the subjects you study count, (appart from Maths and English at GCSE A-C in them are vital at all stages esp in jobs), remember to look at courses in what you want to do and get those subjects for A Level. Kotaro
I picked and had to do : ICT Product Design (Basically Graphics and wood tech) History Geography Maths, English literature and language, Science, Spanish, Citizenship (Had to do) And P.E. I didnt choose P.E. But still had to do 2 lessons a week. If I had picked it, something like 4 lor 5 lessons a week.

But if you'd have taken it as a Foundation subject, you'd have to have done loads. Kinda like taking Triple Science.
The Tin Trooper
Do History. You will not regret it. It is f***ing fantastic. And count your lucky stars for now. A-Levels determine your life, and I'm failing them, so good times. <

Cin
I would have done History as Core, but I dislike continuously learning about WWs.
