@Clair - I think that it's a rather cute name.

@Coyote - I've got a friend named Brad. He's crazy as hell.

Wanna know my name? It's Chris, but I usually go by a number of nicknames such as Marvel, Saturn (yeah), Big Rudy (don't ask), Daddy (again, don't ask), Meat Man (when I worked in a meat market), Big Red (Essence gave me the nickname), Douchebag (only when playing Magic: The Gathering), and so on.

Let me explain how my name works. lol. My Korean birth name is Han Jae Seok which funny enough, is the name of a famous Korean actor. The name my Irish father gave me is Garron...which means horse/undersized despised beast. But for some odd reason, my whole family, other than my father call me Fred. Don't ask because I have no clue.

Alfred. Means "Good in Council" in Saxon. Funny how I always wanted to be a politician...

My surname is so rare that every single person with it can be traced back to me. Records of it have been found in the original Domesday (yes, DOMESday, Norman spelling was atrocious) book and it has also appeared throughout the reign of Edward II and in the Tudor era. There is a town in Shropshire named after it. My family are all Irish immigrants to Liverpool, though on my mother's mother's side I have Jewish and French roots. My (late) grandfather has Welsh blood (Birkenhead is close to North Wales, so his ancestors probably married someone Welsh at some point). We nicknamed him "Da" - a corruption of "Dai", which is Welsh slang for "Daddy".

My rare surname has very Welsh roots, but there is an interesting story behind it. I can't quite remember the details, but after the premature death of my great-great grandfather in a mining accident, his wife changed the surnames of all her children to her surname, removing his. I presume this was some kind of superstitious custom (though ironically, several of her children died in the same mine when they grew up, so it didn't work). As my parents divorced, I took this surname (it being my mother's). I feel glad I didn't take my father's, as not only was his a very, very boring one, but I get to be a part of this exclusive family tree.

My last name is Indonesian, my first name is an English fruit (I was born in Hawaii. Maybe that has something to do with it).

I know, but it's not really a proper name. I'm an only child, so you'd think my parents would care to name me something appropriate. I wish I had an actual Indonesian name. Too bad my parents were Americanized before my birth (they immigrated 7 years before).
