Ieyasu Tokugawa
Wanted to give Rock Stun a little more synchro support, so I had to design a tuner that wouldn't throw off the deck. Tell me if I was successful.
When your opponent activates a card effect, you can discard this card to negate that card's effect until the End Phase. Afterwards, add 1 level 4 or lower Rock-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. This effect can be activated during either players turn.

1 Tuner + 1 or mor non-Tuner Rock-Type monsters. Once per turn, negate the effect of a card that would effect a Rock-Type monster you control. As long as this card is in face-up Defense position, your opponent must attack this monster before they can attack other monsters you control. newhat
Sapphire Princess is mostly reasonable in Level and stats, and is archetype-specific. Like Red Dragon Archfiend, its effect covers a wide area, but can backfire. However, it's a little too wide an area, and I'm not sure how it could backfire, since you'll block Volcanic Doomfire and whatnot. Perhaps you could add a mandatory cost: "Once per turn, when a card's effect would affect a Rock-type monster you control, discard 1 card and negate the effect." Philosopher's Stone has nice art and proper stats for its Level, but its effect is obscenely good. One for one. Fast. Can search itself. No Summon required. Basically crushes every single-use card, including monsters in the Graveyard. Compare Herald of Orange Light, which requires assistance just to negate a Monster Effect.
Screw these Surprise Cards!!! I'm kidding, but Philosopher's Stone is obscenely broken. It might not look bad at first, since it doesn't destroy, but it's Effect Veiler + Magic and Trap Jammer all built into one card that you can easily discard, and your opponent doesn't see it coming. In fact, even if this card negated just Spell or Traps, it would still be broken. The thing I hate about it is the element of surprise, which Konami is cracking down on right now, noting Honest and Kalut being limited. For Sapphire Princess, her effect isn't too bad, but her obscenely high DEF is a tad too high. I mean nothing besides Red Nova Dragon or Obelisk can get by that. I'd say lower it's DEF, or maybe change her effect to negate a card effect that targets Rock-Type monsters. 7/10 Right idea, just a tad OP'd. Also, for the love of Opera, check out my "Genesis Mech Accel" post. It's like a freakin' ghost town and it needs replies.
Ieyasu Tokugawa
What if I limited philosophers to protecting Rocks only? Also, I don't see a problem with Sapphire's defense, since it's effect is mandatory and works on the first card it can, making it easier to run around. Plus being able to survive isn't as bad as being able to kill anything that comes across its path.
